Motorola Mobility improves revenue, still posts a small loss

29 April, 2011
Motorola Mobility is out on its own in the world – Q1 of 2011 was its first quarter as an independent company. Its net revenue went up by a third year over year but Moto is still in the red. On the upside, the number...

The only Moto available in my country (Croatia) right now is Defy... and I can't afford it :-/

Still doing good Moto! Giving your best means youre dedicated in bringing vsatisfaction to your customers. Nokia should get tips from you instead of "playing safe" they are too scared to lose.

Without expanding to Europe (where they have under 0,5% of smartphone market) and Asia the company will die out any way.

Well, maybe if they treated there mobile customers with a little more consideration and respect, ie. prompt updates to all phones that are capable, they would not be in the red. I can`t imagine how many customers they lost due to the lack of updates to many of there phones which have the specs to easily run them. I know when the htc and samsung dual core phones come out I will be looking to move away from my Milestone.

Could have easily covered the losses if not for:-
                            1. Over reliance on NA market instead of international.

                            2. Which in turn unwittingly "enslaved" the better selling droids to carriers.

                            3. Questionable finalized spec decisions on select midrange droids, pricing puzzle for Xoom and misses such as Droid Pro.

                            4. and needless to say...locked bootloaders.

Not a deep hole to get out of.That's 50% improved performance compared to past and they're trying.Provided if Moto is determined enough which I'm still somewhat confident that they are.

the result is quite encouraging. But there's more to be done. Go Moto. I know You are the true king!
