Well, you don't have to delete your Facebook account to have a better life, I found more information about developer jobs in my local area on facebook groups that what I'd ever find on any other website, using facebook for something is good, using it for nothing and mindlessly scrolling through your newsfeed is what you should avoid.

MySpace was cooler to use 10 years ago. Cooler than Friendster and Facebook.
I stopped using FB since 2009. I used it for a year. Went back to it briefly in 2012 and 2015. Stopped again. Too boring. Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat help promote being unproductive in life.

Since t... moreYou're a brave man, I tried so many times but I keep going back because I'm nosy and want to know what my friends and family are up to lol I wish there was a better social networking service out there that would be a real threat to FB.

I deleted my Facebook account exactly one year ago. Since then, I've noticed improvements on my social skills, boosted self-esteem etc. Deleting Facebook was one of the best decisions I've made recently

I've stopped using Facebook as a "social" site, as their business model is to promote asocial behaviour as it tends to trigger more returning clicks and ad sales.
I noticed today that they've started punishing low activity users by completely blocking the view of the news feed until you add more random "friends" to trigger that behaviour above.
