The reader can go below an AMOLED screen or inside the metal shell of the phone.

So, a device under a shiny metal surface can now read fingerprints? As much as I agree that its amazing,
but is there anyone else too, getting a little scared about where technology is going?

I mean, now we can't even touch a panel on a supermarket or public place without feeling unsafe? And, with every new step, new avenues keep developing for hackers?!

Nahh.. nothing to be proud of.. making the fingerprint inside the screen but comes with such a terrible processor doesn't make sure that ViVo can win consumers' heart to support their brand.

Vivo has been first on many fronts. If you follow the company you would not be surprised by this news.

Shoot, Oppo monopolize Qualcomm. I don't like Oppo or Vivo brand with baseless reason. Maybe the name doesn't chime on my ears or the design just like super copy from authentic products.

And they still won't release real VIvo Flagships here in india just cause china thinks our country is poor like oppo and Xiaomi. Friend had to buy his vivo Xplay6 in the philippines and is nowhere here in india yet were stuck with the V series of low to midrange processors.

Mostly Apple really don't innovate, even Fingerprint sensor I first saw on HTC One Max, (though 3D touch came first on iPhone), Apple for most part make it close to perfect or best implementation. BTW Samsung last innovation was of design, those curve displays, other than that don't see much innovation from Samsung yes they incrementally improving there displays. BTW Apple was first to give us 120Hz display on mobile devices.. yes it was on monitors but iPad was first to have it in portable devices. Qualcomm/Samsung both in SoC game, but from looks it seems Apple is way ahead from them in SoC.

Qualcomm made in-screen fingerprint readers and Vivo is first in line to use it in their phones and devices with such sensor will arrive in early 2018 but guys Apple's iPhone 8 is going to have Touch ID Fingerprint sensor underneath the AMOLED display and right now it's under production and Apple will unveil iPhone 8 on September , so Apple is the 1st to invent this technology , even Samsung was not able to make it so they put fingerprint sensor on back , Apple is the best .

Ohhh yeaaaahh finally! This is really an excellent news. Definitely congrats to Qualcomm, vivo and whoever could be involved in it, this is really a "Cutting- Edge" technology. Additionally, although most probably it still needs finalization, etc. but at least now it is slightly more cheering that maybe, maybe Samsung is still in time to include this fantastic innovative in-screen fingerprint tech in the Note 8 (who knows, let's hope).
