OnePlus 5 owners are reporting a “jelly” effect when scrolling

It is lag from screen panel, couldn't catch very fast moving object while scrolling otherwise called motion colour "bleeding" my S4 amoled panel has this issue, if you can call It, it is more like hardware issue (screen panel). I think it is common for mid generations amoled screens, I didint experience this issue with S6 or S8, maybe cause it is supported by higher refresh rates 60Hz and improve panel qualities.

already minus one...cheap amoled,nothing other just a crappy component,in the past years i have seen this on older handsets like samsung omnia hd

It's a flagship for a fraction of the price. Of course quality control, amongst other things, will be the first thing to take a hit. Hopefully this is just a software issue.

The tech they are putti... moreit's not even close to the truth, what you are saying. all companies lose money in their smartphones divisions. only apple and samsung have profits...guess what....they have expensive smartphones. if you cant buy a 800$/€ device blame your boss or country for paying you bad not the company is trying to make money. you still can have smartphones for less than 200 that will do their job right. if you want the top quality top performance top everything....you pay it...look tvs...do you really think a 1k tv is that different from a 5k tv in making them?investigation and building new technology costs money also you know. op not really because they dont invest in that..they only copy...in design also i guess.

My brother had a Moto Maxx and had the same jelly effect issue. It didn't affect usability and performance whatsoever. So why make a mountain about this? Just wait for a fix and be done with it.

No phone shoukd exceed $500 indeed. The tech they are putting in now arent as expensive as tech were back in the day, everything has gotten cheaper but the final products gets more expensive. Competition is really strong now and if ever the small phone makers can get their quality together and more people stop supporting these tech giants, theyll drop their prices too.

It's as if no o... moreNo phone should exceed £500? seriously? What about other phones having more features? Like having a quad hd(vr?) Less bezel? Wireless charging(kinda gimmicky i know)? Camera that has OIS? own special design(i mean oneplus copying iphone 7 plus is bullshit)? The more the features a phone has the more expensive the phone is. Oneplus can actually ower the price further buy just having 4 n 6gb ram.having 8gb ram is a waste of money.
The android system can't even fully use 6gb ram yet and there u go oneplus releasing 8gb ram(u might say newer android like 8.0 9.0 will need more ram, but sadly oneplus has a 'good reputation' of updating phones to newest android. 8gb ram is meaningless, rather have the features i mentioned above.

BTW OnePlus has also got some sort of brand value though faar less than an apple or Samsung but still it got its value, if not no one would have cared for OP5.
