Very first mobile phone was motorola so all these brand like Sony Apple Samsung Huawei HTC LG Nokia etc. are just copy of Motorola.
Anything made by Samsung was here long time ago by any other company so Samsung its just one big copying machine.
If i were the major judge i would give this award to Oneplus 5.
Cost 500 eur offers same specs and stats as any other top model phone from all major brands for a much less price.
So its like these major companies like to rob people while Oneplus making a good cheaper device available for humanity where instead 900 eur samsung is something which maybe 0,001% of global population can afford.

Sony is the most innovative company 🤔? Oh really, what did they bring up compared to Samsung these 3 past years ? Nothing but lost of income and decline in market share. Sony is always a generation behind regarding processors and ram. Yet, they insist to stick with an old and boring skin while every other manufacturer is changing their UI every generation.

They didn't copy anything? Well, judging from how their metal frame and buttons/ports placement, I can easily say that they don't copy.
They barely even pioneered something new.
They made the 14nm processors, and uh..... well, that's it.
If user feature is their main concern, I can say that they're doing it very wrong.
People always want a solid overall software experience, and they'd rather have no features than have tons of features that will likely to cause degradation of performance and those features not working well.
That's just my personal point of view.
If innovative companies are gonna be ranked, there goes (based upon how significant are their creations):
1 - Sony
2 - Oppo and LG
3 - Huawei and Samsung
4 - Apple and HTC
5 - Xiaomi
