Nokia N8 gets dressed in pink, ladies sigh

02 May, 2011
Nokia N8 is already available in five distinct hues - orange, blue, green, silver white and dark grey. It seems the variety wasn't enough so today Nokia launches a pink N8. Is that Symbian Anna running...

N8 is very laggy at times it would freezes for 3-5 seconds. Only good thing is the camera. It lags way more than my Galaxy S Vibrant.

[deleted post]Right on mate! The N8 is an outdated rubbish device that should be recalled. Nokia cannot fix the screen defect and treats their users like idiots. They are not putting any efforts fixing it.

I bet this pink version of the N8 still have the screen defect.

[deleted post]It was no match for the Galaxy S in everything except for the Camera. In fact that was the only thing nokia really marketed the phone as, a camera with some slight internet capability. Whats your rebuttal for that?

Oh yes, Nokia is surely on the right track! First they did a font update, then Anna, and now a color upgrade option, everyone knows before the only things preventing people from buying Nokia devices were the lack of reading due to the font and the color options. Nokia is surely ahead of the curve with this one, with Apple only having 2 colors and most other devices 3 colors.

Nokia obviously does not know what consumers want. They keep releasing these crappy phones thinking it will attract customers. It won't. Hey nokia how many N8 have you sold since release? Still too embarrassed to tell? Yeah I thought so. It's funny how I would debate with the Nokia fanboys that actually was some what knowledgeable and not in it for the brand association(whatever is left of it that is). Now that Nokia is dying those with some what intellect ran off and we're left with zombie fanboys; ones that do nothing but praise Nokia without any factual backup.

We don't need a pink N8! What we need is to get the purple screen defect that Nokia acknowledged but can't fix. Nokia should recall these N8s. They are replacing defective screens with defective screens. This is the stuff that fanboys don't want you guys to know and they are trying to cover up the defect of the N8. Nokia will tell you to take your defective N8 to Nokia Care and they will replace the screen but the screen they have is also defective!

Read more about the defect on the links below. The public should be aware of this defect and exercise caution so they won't buy a defective N8.

I sort of like it lol. It's not exactly pink, it's more bright violet.
Too bad they don't offer it in black.

Guys, call me a fool if you want to, but I'd prefer a plastic body on my N8, instead of the metal one, forgetting the "ego" part of having a metal phone.
                                  My reasons? Here you go:

                                  1. Lesser weight in plastic, metal increases the mobile's weight.

                                  2. When connecting HDMI/ PC, if you are touching the phone while your naked-feet touch the ground, you might feel a small current like sensation. This happens in many metal phones, like N91, INNOV8, etc. (I have owned these 2 sets before). But, this won't be with plastic body.

                                  3. Even manufacturing cost would be reduced.

                                  4. Looks, maybe not so good in plastic, but the difference between a plastic and metal cover would hardly be noticeable, especially in black...

Do I have a point or not? Any Critics here?

First of all, it looks more like magenta to me than pink.

Second of all, Nokia is doing it all wrong. They are not supposed to come up with 4 colours for their phone upon release and then a 5th colour 6 months later. They are supposed to only come out with one colour first and then 9 months later come out with a second colour. Are we supposed to really get excited with a 5th colour when there are already 4 colours for the phone? If there were only one original colour and then you come out with a second colour, it would have made a much bigger splash. This is why Nokia has been slipping last while. :)
