AnonD-373654, 01 Jul 2017sony fans are the worst ihave ever seen.. they never accept... moreI agree, but I'd advise you too - don't ever go as low as become a brand-fanboy. That's the lowest point you can get. You already pay for their devices, that's supporting the manufacturer enough.

Redfoot, 30 Jun 2017Sony have such a confused phone range. Can't they just have... moreThe problem is not that it releases flagships every three months which you feel & is not the case actually,it releases even midrangers which feel like flagships in look which confuses you.I have in all my years of using phones from iphones to sammy to HTC to Sony have felt that only durable handsets including good battery life are Iphones & Sony.Build quality is also very good.Something that these all revievers dont consider is shelf life of a phone and samsungs and HTCs are worst.

Redfoot, 30 Jun 2017Sony have such a confused phone range. Can't they just have... moredo your research before commenting, Sony releases 2 flaghips per year from 2011(SE Arc & Arc S), one in spring(last year it was X Performance, this year is XZ Premium) and one in autumn(last year it was XZ).

sony fans are the worst ihave ever seen.. they never accept the flaws.. I am a samsung fan, and i have seen most samsung fans complain about the flaws.. samsung listens that, and changes that. From galaxy S2 to s8, its like day and night.. from Xperia Z to Xperia ZX or whatever, they look identical.. boxy, square, with huge bezels, and a design that is plain jane.. Watch marques brownie's smartphone awards.. sony got none.. this is the reason.. they are always late with everything.. sony of the past is simply gone

Chriskhany, 30 Jun 2017It's simple though.(at the very least simpler than Samsung)... moreSamsung is simpler in their nomenclature:
                Premium: Galaxy S and Note.
Upper Midrange: Galaxy A series, C series for the most competitive markets.
Midrange: Galaxy J(5 and 7), Galaxy On (those are just Galaxy J but for Amazon and equivalent online markets)
                Low-end: Galaxy J (3 and under), Grand/Prime
Special: Galaxy Xcover (rugged midrange), Tab E (low-end) Z (Tizen)

No matter what anyone says... Sony will always be the best.

But this stupid wierd 18:9 aspec screen ratios that LG and Samsung started is just not inovation and redundant. It's the most gimicky idea ever to change a screen ratio of a smartphone just in favour for idiot people to think it's cool and go buy it.

Definitely this is not XZ1 Premium. Because Sony release a premium edition for 1.5 Yrs from last premium device, so next premium will arrive on 2018 IFA
This should be something else... and thumbs up for that... always believed in sony :-*

Bebe Rexha, 01 Jul 2017This phone will be a bezel less version of the XZ Premium, ... moreWeren't Sony fans deriding s8 for having similar display. It's delicate and all. Bezels=durability hurr durr stuff? Now that they are making one. The defense team goes full force. Cool....

This phone will be a bezel less version of the XZ Premium, which in itself, only has the bezel size as the downside.
When this gets real and released, we'll see how the other people react, and obviously will try so hard to find a flaw like "IT'S A SONY, SO IT'S BAD!" LMAO

reso, 30 Jun 2017if you're not using your phone for vr then anything more th... moreDon't forget this has a large 6 inch screen and i don't think 1080p won't be enough for it. Anyway good going Sony, finally we'll see something different from them.

"Why make 2 flagships in 1 year?"
                                      1. Japan consumer demands. Every manufacturer should release a new device every 6 months.
                                      2. It's a match for the competitors like LG and Samsung, two of which are releasing 2 main flagship devices in the same year as well.

"Why are their phone names confusing?"
                                      Now, it ain't anymore.
They're focusing now on just two lineup, XA and XZ.
The former is a mid range category and the latter is obviously the high value standard flagship.
Going deeper, the XA comes in tandem. XA, a standard sized mid ranger, and XA Ultra, a phablet mid ranger with great selfie capability.
The XZ comes in 2 to 4. XZ is the main middleground, XZ Compact, as its name suggests, is a Compact flagship phone. XZ Premium will always be a big sized screen-featuring flagship, typically always the highest in screen resolution. If it's possible, there might be an XZ Ultra that will be the same as the XZ Premium but with an even larger display and battery.
Let's not also forget the XZ tablets, a successor to the Z Tablet series.

18:9 aspect ratio is fine & dandy, but gone are also the front firing stereo speakers we're all used to on Sony. Phones are getting slimmer so can't place anything on top, bottom & sides either except for the back only.
