There were rumors a while back about a 4.6 inch phone called Xiaomi S. This could be it, which would be very exciting.

Why is it that, most Xiaomi midrange phone doesn't supports NFC for mobile payments and also for files transfer
I think they have to consider it(NFC) in order to increase their market share

hopefully its chipset is the new snapdragon 450.. it would provide insane battery life. Or xiaomi's inhouse chipset that is 16nm or less.

Quadcore at 1.4 ghz.. So outdated speed for sure. I dont think redmi 5 will use low speed like this. Maybe geekbench has made a mistake? Dont know..

Anonymous, 01 Jul 2017But which SoC uses quad coreXiaomi's own in-house SOC?

The mi 5c is using the surge S1 (made by Xiaomi)

Maybe a budget oriented SOC made in-house to be cheaper?

Anonymous, 01 Jul 2017But which SoC uses quad coreThe most probably SoCs is either Snapdragon 425 or 427, quad core and cpu clock 1.4ghz. Snapdragon 430 and 435 is octa core even the cpu clock also 1.4ghz.

Redmi 4S/C or Redmi 5a perhaps?

Seems like for Xiaomi is easier to upgrade the entire phone rather then update curent Redmi lineup to 7.1.2

Android 7.1.2 good with Miui 9 probably, but Snapdragon 430 is already outdated. But i wont mind 120 euro phone with 3GB/32GB and andredno 505.

                              Redmi 5A?
I don't think so... Supposedly, the Redmi series launches on September and on November the Redmi Note series are launched.

Or... maybe the Latin American version of the Redmi 4A? Remember that they entered on Mexico and are about to debut on Chile and Uruguay (with high chances to enter to Peru too)
