W... moreI know but your choices are very limited these days, if the Z2 Force comes with a decent keyboard Moto Mod then that's a sure-fire win for you. Good luck on the hunt for a new phone I hope you find the right one.

Without a keyboard I would much much prefer a phone. That is a device that can be fully operated with one hand while keeping a secure grip. That is no more than some 65mm. the only reason I have compromised this and got a phablet and not a phone is the keyboard...

For larger devices the OS needs to be developed so anything beyond the reach of the hand holding the device is display only, and NOT interactive zone - and this is not an easy task, as these UI rules would impact practically all apps too...

AnonD-647900, 04 Jul 2017That's strange most people would do it the other way around. I guess you refer to the last part. But well a keyboard slider is a rather cheap BUT hard to find thing. On he other hands there are LOADS of phones/phablet that does not distinguish themselves enormously from competing brands, even the flagships.

So to upgrade from my N97mini my only real option was to buy one of each of some of the keyboard slider cases I could find (10-15$ each), and thus ended with an Iphone 6- (with Ios that just stinks). Next the Priv. So IF the keyboard for the moto feels any good, I guess I will get a Z2 or Z2 force (should be just around the corner), if not, a limited amount wasted, and with a little luck the mod can be disposed off on ebay...

If the keyboard feels good, I might even buy a stack, to have as spare, if they are gone when I need one, the cheap one for the Iphone typically lasted 1-3 months each, I think I used a handful in the 1½ year I got the Ip - and still got a handful lying around as the new owner of the phablet did not want them...

AdamBoy64, 04 Jul 2017This gives a good alternative to waiting and hoping the Key... moreA sliding keyboard is a much better alternative IMHO. You get the best of both worlds: A physically keyboard when you need it, and no waste of surface space when you do not.

Sure it is an old phone by 2017 standards, but unless you need it for some really heavy stuff, it does a fine job.

Optimally they should make a Priv2 with updated specs. I would just LOVE to have the keyboard sliding in the right direction: Landscape not portrait.

Also note that a landscape slider MotoMod should start shipping this July, so this might also be an option to have a look at.

I've ordered on to see if the mechanical quality feels anything near the Priv, that feels really good on my specimen of the Priv.

AnonD-248589, 04 Jul 2017It is a fast processor but it warms up too fast. The heating issue in my daily usage disappeared with the Marshmallow update a year ago.
But of course the technical issue is still there, so if the user do some heavy stuff on it (I don't) I guess it will be an issue.
Even when used as a car navigator (navmii) with the display always on and plugged in for hours, it do get warm, but not hot.

overall I'm loving my priv. after smashing my nexus 5 and having to downgrade to a galaxy nexus with a failing battery for 4 months, the priv was a massive upgrade for me. phone feels snappy, screen is sharp (if not a battery drain), monthly security updates. I don't game much on my phone (or very intensely), but the basic thiongs I've played have ran fine (mario run, pocket mortys). I'm also at least the 3rd owner of this device and it's holding up like a champ. I don't use the keyboard so I cant really comment towards that.

This is probably the sets that were dumped by AT&T. They are pretty good but you will not get any updates and upgrades (if that ever comes). Furthermore, there are those AT&T bloatwares.

Anyone interested in buying one should be very careful about that.

But it is a good phone. Would've been great if not for the crappy battery.
