So why use a lower chipset? Other areas are good... except for the chipset.

This phone looks great, but they should put the fingerprint reader at the back instead since its not compatible with motomods and replace it with dual front facing stereo speakers on the front

Just came to say i dont mind the look too much but like everyone else here a SD 660 and #800 battery was an instant buy but 630 and 3000 either go G5 or axon 7 which weil probably be same price (australia)

What da hack? Are you kidding me? Moto X4 with a SD630 SoC ? Are you serious? Then G series with 450 Chipset ? Lenovo has gone nuts and literally destroying moto. Must have used 820(Considering 2 year old). This is really sad :/ from lenbobo as they have destroyed moto.

Pathetic!! What good phones moto x series used to be!!! My moto x style is still better than this moto x4! Lenovo has made moto x garbage ! What do u get ahead from moto g series?? Like sd 630?? A 0.2 Ghz bump in frequency what real world meaning will this make?
lol 12+8 mp camera like 2x zoom will not make 12 mp camera a 6mp! Just 2mp bump with an additional sensor!
Really disappointed with brands this year!

The moto name in the upper front part is realy awkward they should not have place that anymore look at samsung and apply logos are only place at the back to not comprimise the design.

Blech. This is just a very slightly glorified, and almost not at all, G5 Plus. Same design, basically the same chipset, same screen. What a disappointment over the glory days of the original Moto X phones.
It totally lacks the great curved back ergonomic design of the original Moto X phones; it has a smaller screen than the previous Moto X; no front facing stereo speakers; much worse camera specs; no infrared sensors to wake the phone without touching it.
It's rare to see a company take a product backwards in every way.
Lenovo has really ruined Motorola. The Moto phones were some of the most interesting designs, not just following the crowd. Now they are totally generic and/or obsessing over a phone so thin you can't hold them comfortably and "mods" that nobody wants.

Also, the cameras are going to be better than g5+'s, and it will more than likely not skimp on NFC like g5+ does in the US. I just don't get where the g5s+ is going to be placed now. Extremely small differences in the middle of x4 and g5+.

No sd 660, no 3800mah battery and no metal back like earlier rumors.
Well the rumored $325 price is more realistic now, but this thing won't be much more powerful than the original moto x.
