So if I lay it flat on the table does an image floating mid-air - that reveals new details as I look around it - project from it? Yes? Because last time I checked, that's still what "hologram" meant.

        Yes please!
I haunted the Reduser and Scarletuser forums for ages until Scarlet went beyond my budget (Ended up with a Blackmagic).
Red kit is seriously high-end, so a price tag of $1200 for the basic is no surprise at all. 5.7" is just about what I want, especially if it's 16:9.
Need to do a bit more research on using it here on the O2 network (A Hydrogen 'phone on O2 could be a bit explosive lol).

Considering the price of the S8, 1200 is not much at all.
By the way, the detail looks great. I hate round-cornered devices.
Too bad the Turing phone is not running on Android. That was my first choice.

I think most of people here don't even heard before about Red. It's a top- professional video cameras manufacturer. Very expensive cameras. For professionals only. So for these people is made this phone. Not for everyone. Smartphone connectivity to Red cameras could be good addition. But very strange PR is disturbing. Games???

                Why i need a modular?

i just need a smartphone with great wireless connectivity and baterry life.
I can use external CPU and GPU for whatever i need.
Hence, let's make a standalone devise, smartphone is just a screen.

"The image also confirms a headphone jack" ... apparently it's a feature must mentioned nowadays :)

Browsing its website makes me feel it is another scam like Saygus or Turing Robotics.

Show us if it even working to expectation. I know a lot of gimmicky phone advertising crappy so-called holographic display that no one buy at all.

Can't wait for this! It's way out of my price range, but the smartphone world was lacking some spice to it!

Does it have removable battery? If not, then you have no right to call it "modular". The same thing applies for Moto Z phones.

A few years ago I would have said something like: "Who the hells pays 1200$ for a phone" But nowadays.. It's not a bad price if it really works well.

Now this has potential if someone with dedication to detail makes a smartphone.

Difficult to pay something which basically does not exist, just an idea. There is no POC, a close up of technology.. nothing.
