I have a full 1080p Meizu that i got for USD100 2 years ago . im not gonna upgrade to anything until i get a 2k phone below usd100. Any 'premium' phone needs more than full hd in 2017. its not about what you can 'see' or not - its about what you can DO. with higher resolution you get more space to fit apps, webpages, etc and get more stuff done.

Tom, 09 Jul 2017That's because they barely use or have laptops or desktop PCs.You Don't need a laptop for 100% of the things you do in Daily life. You only need if you have to get some heavy work done. I rarely use my laptop. But Facebook, small changes in MS word, listening to music, watching videos can be done conveniently without using a laptop. Hence I haven't bought any laptop or desktop for more then 5 years as they are not needed for the basic tasks I can do on my mobile.

I still remember the first Galaxy Note was considered too large in almost every people's palm. Also making problems when trying to be put in the pocket. Now, even 5.0" are considered small. Good times.

In 2008 Sony reached the Retina density with the Xperia X1 (311 dpi)..
In 2009 HTC packed the largest screen ever on the HD2 (4.3 inches)..
Both are on WinMo platform.. Why didn't they get any mention in this article??
