We launch Search Autocomplete v2.0, now turbo-charged

05 May, 2011
Remember when we launched our search Autocomplete functionality back in January? It was a major step forward in the way you search for phones on GSMArena. Now, four months later we are happy...

        @Vince

        I wrote a mail to GSMArena but didn't receive an answer. Could you at least answer my question? What's the reason behind the 70 item limit of search function? If it's not possible to remove it, then could you at least increase it to 110-120?

        Thanks

              That would be nice to have also the phone reviews in the results but not only phone specifications. Sometimes it takes ages to find a review of the specific phone.
              Thanks.

It should cover their articles too like screen shoot out, camera shootout and all that kind of stuff associated with phones. If I type in "Screen Shootout" then their latest article about it should come up. I know you are aware of the N8 purple screen issue but Nokia should get all the flak for their abysmal and poor response to this defect that affects the N8 and C7 worldwide. The N8 and C7 will always be associated with this defect until Nokia sorts this thing out.

                            No, the screen defect is real and many people know about it. I even confirm it when someone asks. You are the one who keep shouting it left and right.

                              AnonD-1393, 05 May 2011Completely off-topic. Almost everyone here on gsmarena know... moreIt's not off topic. It's a search feature but at it's current state, it only lets you to search phone models. They should add a Tag feature on their phones and articles so when one searches for a keyword, the correct units will come up. If I search DLNA, the SGS II and other phones that have that feature should come up. If I search for "purple screen" then the N8 and C7 should come up and if I search the term "Death Grip" then the iPhone 4 should come up. They need to implement a tag feature in v3.

                              You are offended because you are a Nokia fan and you do not want people to know about the screen defect on the N8.

                                Yet another reason why I've been following this site since 2005. Innovation! It works great on my Galaxy S, too. If I had one gripe though (shoot me if they already have this), it is that you should build a touch-based version of the site, too.
