"Warranty Replacement"... well they didn't REPLACE my defective handset when the screen fell out, they just repaired it... glue I presume?.... so many handsets delivered to UK in first batch must have failed they are probably trying to save money... Blackberry / Alcatel... be ashamed of yourselves... I'm BB loyal, I'm a launch customer in the UK and this is what I get in return for that loyalty...

dladz, 11 Jul 2017There is a little thing which has been around since forever... moreYeah, QC is a bit problematic lately.
Samsung exploding phone also supposedly passed early QC and only found problematic after it start to explodes.
VW QC found the diesel problem early but the report being held back and covered up due to fuck-up corporate decision.
Not sure which of these two, Blackberry situation similar to but yeah they fucked-up.

Possibly there is need for third party deeper QC or there already one of such?

This is pitiful on bb's part, there is no excusing it, end of story.

And that should tell you everything you need to know about Blackberry.

                    Truly pitiful.

Shame on BB said to be tough and durable plus thickness always gave a solid impression. Today that myth has shattered, why in first instance adhesive or fixation was faulty. Hardware obsolete size tiny, but price tag enormous. Shame you have lost a customer BB. Forget in Future but start packing blackberries in cans!

BlackBerry, how about releasing a phone that's fully secured at factory? Trying to cut corner by saving on glue?

engineers at BB don't even have an idea.

By the time the know, they'll already produce massive number of it. Considering variation rate might be low and not enough to warrant costly full batch rebuild, they opt to risk it and simply offer a fix if the problematic product pops out.

It is much cheaper and faster to let the consumer do the testing than the company by itself.

Kudos to Blackberry (TCL) acknowledging the problem and actually doing something about it. Unlike other companies ("you're holding it wrong" or "a differently oriented display does not detract from the user experience").
