apple apps have quality & also big 3d games .
also game size is also big like (dead space 350mb) but in android no single games have this much size they range below 100mb so size=quality=HD games

Only "useful apps" are widgets? I use bunch of apps on my Android that are only apps and not widgets.
I currently use about 15 apps on Android and have about 20 apps on my iTouch and the 15 from my Android device is are basically same as the 20 on my iTouch. Maybe I use less than what an average person has. Say average person using Android has 50 apps, if that person is forced to use an iPhone, he's likely to find most of the apps he was using on Android and vice versa. If certain apps are useful on one market, chances it's also on the other market. It's about same number of useful apps in Android Market and App Store.
"I don't think there's a single "useful" app in one market that doesn't exist in another." is what I said. I cannot believe I have to explain this to you 3 times.
You actually have no idea what I'm talking about.
In my opinion, there's no meaning in this apps race really... average people only use about 0.01% of all the available apps in the market...

Wow! Finally my rants have been addressed in this article!
I've cut out the text that supports my claims that I've tried to emphasise in previous Gsmarena news articles about Apple App Store vs. Android Market:
"The majority of the apps on both stores go unnoticed with the 'cream usually rising to the top', quickly. ... The long tail gets longer and longer while the top 5% gets richer and richer.""
This translates to:
Ppl don't care which market has more fart apps, wallpaper apps, soundboard apps...
What counts are the top apps that ppl usually use and how many are those.
Good example is a fairly big dev company Gameloft that releases games for both platforms (Android/iOS). When such a huge contributor releases more games for Android than for iOS then I can say that Android Market is better than Apple's App Store, and not when Android app count suprasses iOS app count!

Chances a useful widget is found on the App Store are not 99%, not 50%, not 20% not even 1%. It's 0%. Apple is afraid of widgets because they might degrade their self-proclaimed best user experience. Imagine someone putting a lot of widgets on their iPhone and having them syncing all at once. He might discover that all the cr.p he's been told about the iPhone flawless experience is just a big fat lie. Or he's showing off his phone to a friend - would he/she buy one as well? Next time they see an iPhone ad they'll say "Yeah, right - I've seen it and it's slow as hell!" Why do you think the 3G and the 3GS had those rediculously low-res screens? It's much easier to make a smooth interface on 320x480 than on 480x800 for example.

What i dont understand is ..why would you want to pay for an app when you can get it for free on Android's Market ?!...and if it's not free the chances r still higher of being free on the Droid Market...est. 75% of them are free. Don't get me wrong IOS is very smooth and solid but remember the iphone doesn't have a removeable battery nor an expandabke memory option...its either 8,16 or 32gb. All im trying to say here why pay for it when you can get it for free and still have great OS!

However,andaroid is open-source so must b more in quantity than apple.but one should look at the quality of apps that apple has.apple is far more strong,powerfull,easy,smooth n cheap!

I keep saying that it is not about app quantity but quality and real utility. I don't care if a platform can offer me one million apps if most of the people will make use of only 1%

one thing that annoys me is that a lot of people were initially claiming the app store is better due to there being more apps and now that android is catching up their arguement is no longer about the quantity but the quality?
That said, I was loyal to the iPhone from the very first one, even before it had an app store, all the way up to the 3gs and i will admit that the quality of the apps on the iphone is generally better which is no doubt due to the submission process (which can be frustrating as i have an app on the app store myself, and the android market too :))
I switched to android instead of going for the iphone 4 for one simple reason, i was so bored of the iphone and the lack of change from initial launch. Sure iphone apps tend to be more polished/professional looking (though not always) but thats the trade off, more diverse apps but sometimes not as polished :)
anyway, ive waffled! my original point was, people who change their arguement due to their initial point being no longer valid annoy me :)

All these mobiles using Android are only only debasing the worth of mobile brand names. Nothing deferentiates them from the pack. So mobile brand awareness is being reduced for those that use Android. That is the downside which these brands did not properly consider. Essentially these brands now are all the same. GSM Arena reports all these new phones coming onto the market using Android. But for user experience Aplle wins, and for business you have to use Blackberry. For me Apple and Android do not deliver to me the business experience and functionality that I need which is why we all use Blackberry.

Desperation move by Google to renew consumer confidence in Android. Well, its not about the number of apps...its about quality and usability in which AppStore will still dominate.

[deleted post]That's just silly. As I've stated on this site numerous times, I own a HTC Desire HD since the end of October. Not a bit less expensive phone. And please tell me where I said that iPhone is bad. I don't know if you have read the article but it's about the application markets on the two most rapidly developing smartphone platforms. I am talking about Apple's policy on app aproval and that's what really gets me angry on them. They fear that apps like widgets and so on could make the experience with the iPhone less smooth and that's the only reason they forbid it. That way they can always say "our phone has super smooth UI" - well, in fact it doesn't have an UI at all. Just an application launcher. They fear that Flash will drain their battery (the iPhone 4 battery is horrible, so their fears are not without reason) so they make the stupid agument that Flash is only for p.rn... Even if it is, that just supports my statement that Apple treats their customers like children.
On Android I can have whatever I like and if I feel I don't like the compromise I have to make with the phone's speed, battery or whatever (not that I have found anything that makes the Snapdragon lagging), I can just uninstall it. Simple as that. And I am "exposed" to iOS for several years now. My wife likes the iPhones, so she had the 3G and now she has the 4. But then again she doesn't claim to know anything about technical stuff - she even chooses her laptops depending on their color and for her the iPhone is ideal. Fashonable toy-phone.

Nokia, by far the best handset maker, let down by poor software. I actually dont mind symbian too much, i know its slow and uninspiring. It works though...E71, 3.5 yearsl old never missing a beat, X6 16GB, BEST music phone by far. I phone - Explodes, spies on you and wont wake you up!!, Android ( yes, i have a HTC Legend ) Great for media, camera good but simply not as good at being a phone as a nokia. By the way, i used to hate nokia with a passion, used to be Loyal to Ericsson, pre sony days... Motorola - Are you having a laugh!!!
