(Tried out Qualcomm (used the 820, 600, 625, 410, 430), Exynos (7420, 8890, 8895, 7580, 5410, and the ancient 4210) Mediatek (MT6797, 6755, 6737T) Kirin (930, 955, 960) Apple (A6, A8, A10, A9, A8X) and even Broadcom.) so I am the last one to hate. I loved the fluency and preformance of all chipsets when I used them. it was meant for that "SMS boy"
I do have to mention though. it DID feel different a bit with every chipset. some were OwO and some were -_- and there were even that made me feel o.o'
p.s. Not neccesarily in that order. I just pulled out what I remembered. ^^;

Secondly: I do agree that the Mediatek series is awesome. I have used the X20 and it's marvelous. The drawback is that not all OEM uses the powerful P or X series. Which is sad. That's why many people think that mediatek is not good.
Thirdly: don't bash Qualcomm and Exynos either. I know you love Mediatek but respect the other chipset makers.

lg g5 now in us is 225$ with snapdragon 820, fingerprint, dual 16mp , 2k display & .....
& this phone with sd435 & nothing else just fhd+ display is higher than 300 us$ or even higher than 350$ !!!!!?

why phone manufacturers like to lick the balls of sd 400 series processors, 2GB or 3GB ram and 8GB or 16GB rom ? I am definitely not buying as I have already got a good phone. Put in more meat and let the music roll....Now is already year 2017 second half.

Take a few moment to realize this phone has no SD Card/Finger Print/ USB C
The Q6 Alpha is clearly a NO, no matter how the price goes, 16GB with the nasty memory management of Android is a BIG NO.
The Q6 should be under $US 300
The Q6+ should be max at $US 350

LG need to stop making 16gb phones. Its BLOATED OS occupied about 8gb by itself, leaving user with less then 7.83gb space. In 2017, 32gb should be the minimum entry-level-phones, 64gb should be the new middle, with 128gb reserve for the high-end.

The processor isn't really mid-range, it's more like low-end. But otherwise, I think it might be a decent device. But I don't understand why different storage and RAM memories require different names.

johnnkennedy, 11 Jul 2017Common lg, atleast SD 653, and 4000 mah battery...Even a "good old" SD 625, wich has a decent perfomance and is battery efficient would be more appealing to the costumers than SD 435. LG is not Nokia, they can't relay on branding nostalgia. LG smartphones division's management should be fired after no less than two years in a row of bad decisions (I sholud say four years).

There are tons of other options that are way better than the q6, particularly from motorola. Making the q6 good wouldn't cannibalize g6 sales...if someone wanted the g6 or any other phone lg makes, they would have gotten it. Now, they will not buy either phone and lg is left shooting themselves in both feet.
Oh, and your family will hate you for getting them an overpriced phone without a fingerprint sensor, a slow processor, rear firing speaker, and all the signature lg bugs/problems.
