for me the build quality of the phone is more important than the operating system/installed software...the build quality of lg phones is much better than samsung and nokia!!!

      Guys not all the world uses touch phones , some people ( like me ) find it too delicate to use ! , so when it comes to non-touchscreen phone , nokia rules with no competition !

          Nowadays we do different actions by phones: we take photos,record videos,play videos,connect to internet, listen to musics,play games etc.in these cases companies can compete that are strong enough in multimedia section. Companies such as sony,lg, samsung and not nokia with its blury and useless cameras,vague sound quality,bad displays etc.i personally dont see any gifts for nokia c7 to be compared to this beuty lg. Can nokia make such an innovative display?

            well symbian is a nice os but I think its not really suited for touchscreen purposes as it tends to lag often. im a former symbian user and I have switched to android coz it is very smooth compared to symbian and plus the market with lots of free apps and games

              AnonD-4100, 07 May 2011They aren't the same in design like almost every other andr... more"They aren't the same in design like almost every other android phone."

              I don't agree!

              Talking about a User Interface design, phones with same OS (Android) has different User Interfaces:
              Sony Ericsson = Timescape UI
              Samsung = TouchWiz UI
              HTC = Sense UI
              Motorola = MOTOBLUR UI
              Also Android OS is more flexible if you want to change UI look than Symbian OS.

              Talking about a device design, there is so many Android OS based phones that they just can't be the same design. For example is there a lot phones with same design like a: Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc or HTC ChaCha? I don't think so!

                They aren't the same in design like almost every other android phone. I'm the first one who will say Nokia uses old cpu's , that they need to overcome support only the nHD and VGA resolution and last they need to put more RAM memory in their devices.

                    AnonD-1082, 06 May 2011The processor might be old but the OS is so light weight it... more1) Symbian is optimized OS, but as we can see even with optimized OS, NOKIA phones are still very laggy when you are watching YouTube or using navigation (loading maps). Why? Because even with optimized OS, 680 MHz isn't enough!
                    680MHz CPU and 256MB of RAM are enough to run the lightweight Symbian OS, but it isn't enough to run smoothly Symbian OS + some more apps...
                    2) There is also many types of malware on Symbian and iOS operating systems!
                    3) Not only Android OS, NOKIA and other phones with Symbian OS also tend to lag and rebot. Also don't forget about a NOKIA's "Purple Screen".
                    4) You say that all phones with Android OS look the same and even works just like any other Android OS phone...
                    I think you first should look at the X7-00; C7; E7; N8 specifications! Do you see any main differences? I guess no!
                    They all have: The same CPU, same RAM, same GPU, same Bluetooth, same 8MP camera (except N8) and so on... There almost no differences, the same hardware just other mix of it.

                      Nice, affordable phone. I love to look at the front , coz the back looks ugly ;P

                      My gripes:
                      1) No TV out / HDMI
                      2) No touch-focus in BOTH camera and video
                      3) average 512 RAM
                      4) Back-part of phone is plain Ugly
                      5) Pictures and videos made by the phone are average-looking

                      My Likes:
                      1) Affordable
                      2) Has office editor and viewer
                      3) Has front camera
                      4) Display is readable in broad sunlight

                      I think I will wait for the HTC Sensation!!

                          AnonD-1082, 07 May 2011It only sucks in the mind of Android fanboys like you. S^3 ... moreoh come on
                          Would you listen to yourself?
                          It's like you own the company or something!
                          Every one is entitled to their own opinion
                          Personally I own a nokia 5800 , and while I think it's decent enough for a first try at touch screens, nokia needed to improve on it ,Which they didn't!
                          When I look at my brother's C7 ,i see no real improvements
                          Hell they even made it worse in some places like in the music player when they removed the ability to create a new equillizer set.
                          also Nokia needs to make symbian open source so that people can change what they don't like (e.g the home screen)

                          As for the hardware, it's really outdated, no doubt about that
                          little RAM , slow processors, low res screens, they are using two years old tech and then charging premium prices for it!
                          And no mater how light or efficient symbian is, it still needs a decent cpu and plenty of ram, maybe not for the os it self , but for the complex apps that will run on top of it.
                          For instance ,my 5800 gives me memory problems when running three or more tabs in opera mobile
                          spb mobile shell makes the device slow as hell
                          Yes on the c7 they preform better, but just give it two years and there will be some apps that will make it run out of memory just like my 5800 does now.

                          The world is rapidly changing and yes we do need netbook processing power on our phones now
                          Ten years ago people would have never imagined a phone running with an 400 mhz cpu, and to the same extent there are some people that can't imagine the need for a multi core cpu today.
                          But trust me there is a need for it.

                          on a side note:i was really looking forward to getting a meego device from nokia, but now that they abandoned the os,it seems that I'll go for the galaxy s2 instead, since any meego device would be a test device like the N900 was.

                          Cheers

                                I currently own an N8. I just saw this in Trinoma here in Metro Manila. Hardware looks really nice for 20k especially the 4inch screen. Only downside is it runs on android 2.2 (who knows when they will release the upgrade for this???). If it can run cyanogen then this will be great deal. Looks like I just found my birthday gift. I might buy this. I have tried Android. Also, I might keep my N8 with me as well.

                                    is LG capable of performing video-call via 3G network?
                                    if not, then I think Samsung i9003 Galaxy SL is more preferable, since it has a better price/performance ratio...
