Of course... enforcement of unwanted curved screens and non removable batteries in S8 line at the same time blatantly overpricing it eventually leads to many would be customers voting with their wallets against purchase. Me included.

However, Xperia XZ Premium from Sony did bring something heavy on the table with 960 fps slow motion and 4K display and all...
Now, Note 8 is around the corner, and I guess it will have a dual camera implementation of some kind, plus most novelties of the S8. That should be a significant boost for those jumping from S7/ Edge...
Although, you're right about the display actually making a difference.

S8 has worst battery back up in Samsung phones I think according to display ratio the battery should be 3600 mAh.when I use Internet throughout day it's just works for 3 to 4 hours online

Because Note 7 FE is coming back again and the others is waiting for the Note 8

Maybe I can buy a set of S8+ as spare phone at $200 less or lower than RRP, if SS is willing to reduce selling price. As some readers have commented on its bloatware, standard set regardless of what model from J, A and then S series, I become hesitant to buy it because the bloatware are 98% useless. I had note 1 phone 5 years ago and I was sick of having to update the idiots despite not using them at all, using data charges.

Samsung should sell phones with just basic settings and google play. It should give buyers a total free hand in deciding what to install in the phone like Xiaomi. But I have 99% doubts that my suggestion will be heard by the koreans especially DJ Koh.

Also cutting features to retain battery is not the way to go. Because you *lost* something to gain something else.

Putting more capable hardware beats all. It's all a matter of design choices. If Xiaomi can do 4000 Mah in smaller phones certainly could Samsung do 3600 mah on S8's size.

But they wanted it to look slick and thin... every mistake has a consequence. There's nothing you can get away with...

The problem with the S8 was that apart from the design upgrade, it's essentially the same phone as the S7 inside. The camera sensor size was not increased for the very first time in Samsung's history, while the location of the fingerprint sensor is very unfortunate. Those two things are what tilted the scale away from it being an otherwise sure buy for me, and made me stick to my S6. Now the leaks saying the S9 might have two small camera sensors instead, and the new leak for the Pixel 2 make me consider switching away from Samsung for the first time, but I'll still probably wait for what the S9 has to offer before I make my decision.

I bricked my zte axon 7 (overall such a disappointing device, the frequently advertised software updates i was never able to install without having modified the bootloader on my device at first... makes me wonder if they were just a marketing ploy ?) and had to order a new mobile a few weeks ago. I never considered seriously the s8 / s8+ because of :

                                  - the fragility reports (not rigid enough frame, and very rigid 3D glass, which is an awful combo and will crack screen more easily when dropped, and 270 euros to repair, yet samsung does not offer dedicated stores like apple so this would take several days instead of just 1 hour) (and the s7 active is still absurdly an at&t exclusive for usa instead of offering it to the entire world) and
                                  - the rear mounted fingerpint scanner

I wish samsung stucked with the design of the s7 (flat screen, 5.2 instead of 5.1 inches screen, front mounted fingerprint scanner).

Also i chose oneplus 5 because of the ultra light android skin (almost stock android) and frequent updates (at least for two years, i do not trust them to update any further than that unfortunately). I trust oneplus 5 more on software security (well actually google) than samsung who offer a 2.5 gb android version instead of a couple hundred Mb.... This is definitely computer generated code. I think samsung has become the windows of the android world with potentially awful security.

Samsung's hardware is as awesome as its software is disappointing.

Consider how tiny battery they use in the S8/8+ they probably did a lot of tricks to make Android save battery but under normal use it's gotta have a weaker battery life than the S7 which has a bigger battery.
