AnonD-633729, 16 Jul 2017Galaxy Note series has excellence battery life. No matter w... moreOf course Samsung would not add 5000mAh battery to their flagships because it will no longer be slim and 'flagship like' (reason #1). Never mind if the battery dies faster because of shorter charge cycles and more heat generated from frequent charging - accelerated wear and tear (reason #3). People who buy flagships can afford to replace the phone anyway. Samsung A9 pro with its 5000mAh battery may be king in battery department but it does not scream "my owner is rich" because fat and chunky just doesn't look expensive and sexy. Do you now understand BigDaddy? If not, read my posts again and for once, buy a phone with 5000mAh battery like the A9 PRO. So you'll understand what it feels like to use a phone without limits.

AnonD-633729, 16 Jul 2017Galaxy Note series has excellence battery life. No matter w... moreIt doesnt have to be a brick to use a larger battery. Especially how tall the Note line is.
The S and Notes have been from just under 7mm to 8mm thick. And LG and HTC have been up to 10mm for a while. So making it like 8.5 to 9mm to house a much larger battery and higher quality image sensor would be WAY MORE than acceptable. But then they wouldn't be SUPER thin...And the iphone would be thinner........

I've seen some people charge their phones even when their phones still have more than 80% battery. Also, all batteries are not made equal(quality wise), hence their cycles differ.
                    2. sealed back = stronger and slimmer phones. You can't have a phone with both large battery and removable battery unless you want to buy a brick like phone.

No matter what you use- facebook or game or lte or 3g or wifi. A phone have to be in balance between usability, portability and battery life. Samsung can surely add 50000mAh battery to their phones but they don't because it is a phone. Not a brick lol.

Battery tests of gsmarena are based on 1hr of 3G calls (not VoLTE calls), 1 hr of web browsing (not using phone's LTE data) and 1hr of video playback (not using phone's LTE data). If you're always on LTE mobile data because you're a heavy user of facebook, youtube, online news, online gaming or anything else which uses LTE mobile data for extended periods of time, then those endurance figures
(not based on LTE mobile data usage) will not be applicable. The only thing that will matter the most will be the battery capacity. Optimization contributes very little for the heavy LTE mobile data user.

this looks like an s8, just more squarish.
And I bet it won't have anything the s8 doesn't have, except from the 2 cameras.

Not until you start using LTE data on your phone for extended periods of time for Facebook, youtube, online gaming, news reading. Optimization only helps for very light users where phone LTE data is off most and phone is on sleep mode most of the time.

what samsung does is put smaller battery on a slim phone, and optimize its battery so it will last as long as a big battery on a chinese phone.

Top phone makers like Samsung will never put 4000mAh or larger batteries on their flagship phones. The two main reasons are: #1. It bulks the body and adds to the weight -
makes their expensive flagship phones midrange-looking: not good for sales especially if you want to target the affluent/rich who want the phone to almost scream their price tag just by their looks. #2. Manufacturers will always come up with an 'active version' with bigger batteries later on for those who insist on them. Therefore, additional sales. #3. The smaller the battery, the more the recharge cycles and the faster the wear and tear to the non-removable battery and and its charging mechanism. In short, you'll buy a replacement sooner than later as frequent charging of a dying phone battery can become extremely annoying. So there you have it folks, three reasons: planned obsolescence, sales, and even more sales.

yawwn...expensive. small battery. what are they expecting?!
