Excellent news. And yes it is better for Nokia, etc. To don't wait much longer to launch it, because if they will wait even longer, it will ALMOST crash with the Note 8 and all the others in a row. Additionally, regarding that from now (last leak) on we can forget to refer for Nokia's flagship as "9" but from now on as "8" (only for this year, obviously!). And oh, almost forgot, another thing. Hopefully Nokia will include the best specs as much as possible, and regarding the RAM specifically, yes obviously it will be much better if they will skip the 4GB variant and instead go directly for the 6GB as standard/base.

v.i.andron, 17 Jul 2017The design is indeed on the conservative side. Maybe even t... moreLook always doesn't determine the worth of a flagship grade smartphone...I agree that S8 looks better then this Nokia 8 and having a more fragile display(display breaks easily) also but u'll not get timely Android updates & security updates from Google and S8 will slow down and lag after few months of usage which will not be the case in Nokia 8.

icecoldart, 17 Jul 2017Now that's interresting, Huawei and Leica cooperation was a... morelol this is one of the most innacurate comemnts i've ever read. LEICA is no longer relevant and they were known historically for making viewfinder cameras.
Carl Zeiss is a world leader in lenses and is actually a step above Sony lenses. Sony G lense comes at a second place though. And nokia lumias used to have Toshiba Sensors.

I bought a Nokia 5 , I love it's Design it's the best from the three. HMD going with the same design for the Nokia 8 is a safe bet , a well made decision. Outcome is a compact , powerful flagship with soft metal edges. If this doesn't give a home run for NOKIA brand I've no clue what will.

Now that's interresting, Huawei and Leica cooperation was a good move, it pushed many companies to up their camera game. However Leica is more of a legend than any special/superior quality, paying big bucks for the name, Zeiss on the other hand is well respected with *reasonable* prices.
Anyhow if they will use a decent sensor ( most likely Sony, what else? :P ) and hopefully pair it with *good* Zeiss optics we should have a great contender in this field.
Actually Sony is a leader in mirrorless cameras and their G master Lenses are even better than Zeiss for that matter.

The design is indeed on the conservative side. Maybe even too much so. But considering it should have top notch internals, a QHD display and a rumored 600 € price tag... It all rests on the shoulders of the Zeiss camera. If it's better than the cameras on the U11 and S8, it might be worth buying. I mean, it's got the same thick bezels as the HTC and is slightly cheaper, so why pick the U11? As for Samsung, the S8 looks superb, but is sensibly more expensive.

There are two types of people in this world.
1 who has always something bad to say about nokia no matter what
2 who really doesnt care anything but loves the nokia brand and would go for it.
Really people who say bad about nokia really do they have a valid reason to comment negative about nokia! As though they have used the phone before launching world wide.

Anonymous, 17 Jul 2017Design fail from the start It was clear that Nokia would play safe, at least at this stage. Certainly not a great design, but to say its a fail is bit far streched. Anyway, there's no way you can make a prper judgement bya pictures only.
