Last year Apple released a shiny black glass iPhone and no 3.5mm jack. Then several manufacturers (including Samsung) rushed to release a black shiny glass phone. And by time other manufacturers will follow Apple and will remove the 3.5mm jack.

fingertip scanner and such... yea well, nothing is perfect. but after all pluses and minuses, i'll buy the s8 again.
I'm not sure where you found all those massive complaints about the focus breaking after a month. didn't happen to me and to 6 others s8 users i know. I'm not saying that some doesn't suffer from this problem, but it's definitely not a massive problem that many suffer from, like you make it sound.
And as said before, if you're looking for people complaining about a X problem on a Y device, you will find those on every device ever existed.

I have read the comments of S8 owners and see lots of complaints about auto focus failing within 1 month, very inconvenient location of fingerprint scanner, inconvenient central button, and annoying bixby. The vast majority of comments criticize low quality which does not match the price level.

i don't care of ir blaster and i don't care of ... moreIR blaster, FM Radio, removable battery are very important. Even the lack of only one of them is a deal breaker. The speaker on bottom is very annoying, and it's one more thing that ruins the user experience. Since Galaxy S6, Samsung phones are nothing more than iPhone clones. (And the other manufacturers like LG copy Samsung.) Bezels are good, because they protect the screen from accidental touch from your palm and protects the screen at impacts. The curved edges makes the S8 even more annoying. It also reflets the light into the content and makes the phone more fragile. The non-standard screen ratio is another disadvantage of S8.
People (like you and other Samsung fanboys) got brainwashed by the marketing. They consider phones as jewerlies/status symbols instead of high tech tools. Really sad that most people are as dumb. The most important for these people is the marketing hype and that it looks cool on advertisement photos which is achieved by light reflection from shiny, curved glass surface. It's totally useless, yet most people want it.

The last good Samsung phone is the Note 4. Objectively, overall LG V20 is much better than S8, LG G6, V30 and any future phone. Samsung phones always had the worst screen. The performance is no different from others. IR blaster, FM Radio, removable battery are very important. Even the lack of only one of them is a deal breaker. The stereo speaker is useless on a phone. They should just move the speaker back to where it was on Samsung phones before S6: on the back at the corner. The only good thing in S8 is the camera, the CPU/GPU heatsink pipes and the TouchWiz features like reducing screen resolution (LG V20 also has this feature).

my S7 was fast I mean faster than S8... its gotta be something to do with their
new samsung skin on the phone cause it makes just no sense why its running
slower than S7
I got my S8 and sold S7 and realized I made a mistake :(

lol maybe its true based off on the numbers but all those pathetic / desperate
promotion thats running in US such as $200 off trade in / BOGO trade in and more
it should better than then last year!
I know tons of american bought their S8 / S8+ for $270 / $370 from the trade-in scam
pretend that they will send it their S7 edge for trade-in to get $350 off + another $100 (on sale)
then purchased the phone with their prepaid credit card (I mean what company this big would accept prepaid credit card when trade-in is involved?)
kept the phone for dirt cheap and never send anything back
Its hard to believe they have not sold them more than iphone 7 / Plus yet

Camera is similar, battery life is similar and real world performance is similar (and behind the competition).
The design is the meaningful change with the s8.

If it does it makes no sense. It's a worse phone coming a year later at a higher price.
S7 Exynos was the fastest android until one plus 3. S8 is literally the slowest flagship of 2017... Less battery life too. There's nothing going on about this phone. The least desirable S phone for a looong time.

Even if the researcher is wrong, he surely told us a believable lies... Anybody would believe that S7 outsold the S8, just because not everything about the S8 is famous yet, plus a lot is shared with the S7 anyways. Plus the S8 interface is a like or dislike matter itself.

- the revamped touchwizz interface (heavy android skin) induces up to a couple of seconds of lag when opening an app in heavy usage,
- and the s8+ 4gb does not manage memory very well, it relaunches apps and games instead of keeping them in memory, only the s8+ 6gb (sold in China) does better but is not perfect.

Performance wise, price wise, the s8+, this high end 2017 android device provides a very disappointing user experience. Samsung's hardware is as awesome as its software is a let down.
I would love for gsmarena to launch a post about our ideal smartphone, i would be able to list all the reasons i had to choose by default the oneplus 5 because all the other manufacturers made mistakes.
