i wholeheartedly agree they make the absolute best TVs but if the LG V30 comes with less than 6GB RAM it is out as far as my next phone

Better white no reddish pinkish tint like S8 and S8 plus Super Amoled
Better suppixel arrangement real colors RGB 3 suppixel red green and blue unlike Amoled 2 suppixel that's why Samsung stick with higher resulation in order to make there screen as sharp as IPS LCD.
Long life span unlike Amoled short life span.
More colors accuracy.

Not sure why people keep repeating this myth. From the top of my head we have the venerable Ericsson "The Shark Fin"(one of the earliest REALLY rugged phones who still is hard to beat when it comes to ruggedness) and newer phones we have Samsung S5, Sony Xperia V, Samsung Xcover 4, Alcatel Go Play, Sony Xperia ZR etc etc.
If they been able to make small waterproof watches that can be submerged 200m with replaceable batteries for 30 years do you really think there would be an issue making a sealed battery compartment to a phone that's just going to be designed to be submerged 2m?

In fact that is the very idea of android. Offering flexibility that I phones don't, can't or won't have.
The reason we got sealed batteries is because it's better for the industry. They actually lose sales on the particular phone that they seal the battery but in the long run they gain more as most people are now forced to buy a new phone every 2-3 years...

Sealed batts were made to condition people to change phones every 2 years.
Most sexy phones buyers do not care about the batt... until something happens like it dying on an unfortunate time because the power bank cannot keep up with the usage or they are far away from outlets.
Or it gets bloated and they gotta find and pay someone to chnage it for them.
Pay for something that used to be doable for free. Who would not want that?

I understand all of you that want a bigger and replaceable battery, but the trend is just going the opposite way and I don't really see it changing anytime soon. And it is because most people prefer unibody design and waterproof phone, even though it might be a "gimmick" for some.
All arguments aside, I really hope that LG will do something great with the V30. They already got the design going with the G6 (V20 was ugly as f***), now they just need to put a great camera on it, use and upgrade on the audio features of the V20, do a decent job with the OLED screen and this will be a great phone.

Thick phones with big batter are much better and much more useful than crap, useless thin fashionphones. And no, the external battery charger is not the same as a spare battery. With external charger you also have to carry a cable and wait for hours while it is charging the phone. A spare battery is much smaller (fits even in a wallet) and it gives instant 100% charge. It also doubles the battery lifespan because you divide/spread the phone usage on 2 batteries (which means half as much usage per battery). But an extended battery even more useful. And the batteries lose much more capacity than 10%. They degrade exponentially. After about 2 years, the degradation becomes more noticeable. 1-1,5 years later from now your S7 will have much less capacity.
No, the V20 didn't have the best camera. It has worse camera than G5.
The reasons why most people didn't buy LG V20
- bad reputation of LG because LG phones have bad quality (bootloops, LCD screen bleed and retention)
- there were several reports of V20 shattergate (fragile camera glass)
- G5 and V20 have ugly back design (LG should have to stay with the G4 and V10 design style because that was much better)
LCD is better than AMOLED. The problems with the screen of LG phones is the fault of LG because they use use poor quality LCD screen (same screen since G4). Other brands use better LCD screen. Water resistance is just a gimmick. Most people never expose their phones to water anyway.
With the G6 and V30, LG ruined everything.
I agree with your other arguments regarding to the 4k screen and storage.

I wasnt disappointed when i heard that LG will remove 2nd display. LG used IPS displays and now they will finally take OLED. With OLED everything is possible. I wouldnt be surprised if they decided to just put 2 screens to 1, because you can just turn on top of the screen of V30 and there you go, you got 2nd display (even though it is technically 1 screen and not 2). And about this 4GB of RAM, i think there will be 2 versions with 4 and 6GB and not just 1 version, i mean, back in 2015 LG V10 had 4GB of RAM, in 2016 V20 had 4GB, i expect 6GB now.

let me make it clear.
- AMOLED is infact the same as an OLED display. With exception of an extra layer of some sort.
- 4gb of ram is stil sufficent, even if you have 6 or 8 if the software doesn't make use of it efficent it is just a utter waste of resources.
- Can you even mention a flagship device that EVERYONE has heard of with a 4000mah battery???
- The G6 cameras is one of the best cameras on a smartphone around.

Can we just get a well specced, minimal bezeled 16:9AR 5.7"--6.0" QHD screen phone/Phablet with a huge battery from one of the top OEMs? I'm sick of all the top phones I was waiting for, all going for the 18:9AR screens. Even the Huawei Mate series which did a good job with the Mate 9 with slim bezels is rumored to be going with the 18:9ar screens. Good phone and form factor.. they just need to shrink the bezels a little more, up the screen to QHD and this time a way better camera.. that's not much to ask.
