Chuck Norris can charge phones with his voice, you can't

10 May, 2011
Yesterday we stumbled upon the news that Sang-Woo Kim of Sungkyunkwan University found a way to convert noise to electricity, which can in turn be used to charge your cell phone. As usually when we come upon...

so you guys are child of chuck norris or you are the next albert einstiens to make a materala so sensitive to take sound and make sustainable ammount of electricity .. Nice but 100 db is huge if you can realise .. To charge you mobile cheaply just get a small solar panel with a battery or a small wind mill will do it with out noise and with easy .. So shut you mouth you folks and dont imagine thing like car for $5000 and petrol for $6999 .. And added still labour require to move the car a inch .. Rest your mind and dont cry ..

            JG, 10 May 2011if you strong believe it you can make it happens... scien... moreScience FICTION from yesterday is not technology from today. It remains fiction. Where are the dragons? Horses with wings? Turning any metal into gold? Flying chairs and carpets? Where are those airplanes from "our" times? http://goo.gl/9TLhg (and we can even build something so pointless - take a Harrier, remove wings and canopy; vs. "boring" reality http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Ryanair_Boeing_737-800_approaching_Brno-Turany.jpg )... which were just a reflection of _limited_ imagination (undoubtedly influenced by rapid advances in _marine_ tech)

            Or try this: with only a medium chemical launcher (say, Atlas V or Zenit) and additional few dozen million bucks, transport 1000 viable humans _now_ to any place in our planetary system. My imagination (backed by knowing realities of our world) knows how to do it, easily. Can yours?

            All the differences we've made with technology, were about _exploiting_ laws of natural world. Not trying to ignore them.

                    science fiction from yesterday is technology from today.
                    mp3, internet, wi fi, bluetooth, wireless electricity, solar power systems, laser, medicine, gps, etc.
                    Now we do have a chance to make a difference and that is going to be how we will be remembered.

                      @Hyperboy

                      Physical Laws defy the Universe. They can't be bent or broken. They are the Alpha and the Omega. God Himself. Only human laws (that are just creations of our minds), can be broken. Physicists, around 100 years ago, did not break the physical laws that defy nuclear reactions; they just discovered them.

                      Only Chuck Norris can break the Physical Laws as easily as the human laws... :) Well done GSMArena!!

                        Also, would you point me to ships with hulls ignoring Archimedes' principle? (and don't even think about writing down more empty wishful thinking if you need to check what that principle says!) Come on, it's over 2k years old, used by species long preceding our own, surely we should be able to just ignore it by now...

                              well, I don;t believe in such a thing as IMPOSSIBLE when it comes to science. It will happen, maybe not today or tomorrow but it will. As for breaking physics lows, well, lows are made to be broken, and hey Albert Einstein has done it once before with the nuclear fusion. ;)

                                Anything is possible.
                                20 years back if you would tell a person that scientists are developing tiny devices called mobile phones with which you can talk from anywhere and use it as a personal computer, he would have laughed on you the same way you are on this person's hard work.
                                Predicting future is a sign of foolishness.
