challa, 24 Jul 2017The price isnt the issue, the issue is nowhere has it in st... moreFirst the problem is the price almost Apple lite

I cannot believe the price as the specs are mid range and when you consider the super inexpensive Nokia 6 comes in at under half that of €500 of the KEYone

Blackberry fault, major fault was it was the last phone maker to have a secondary camera!
Secondary camera came in 2012 Z30 / Z10 & Q10 phones which came out later

So it doesn't seem a natural thing to go from keyboard to touch screen back to keyboard

There may be a resurgence to Blackberry for this keyboard phone but it is odd as I find to be a touchscreen phone + tacked keyboard, I prefer given a choice the Priv

The second thing coming to BB after Android, is there is a dislike to Android, as NOT Blackberry, so it mimics Blackberry but not so "good"

Ignoring Apps BB10 OS has far better RAM management and is 1000 more secure.

There are flagship phones which cost the same or marginally more than €500 but you get premium specs
Government employees almost always had a Blackberry, this promised security.

The hybrid phone / keyboard seems to be a popular phone despite the high price

Carphone Warehouse don't stock the Keyone in store. Their stock is sitting in their warehouse ready for delivery to your home or any store of your choice. You have to order online.

It's funny when people think they know what they are talking about while they actually don't.

BlackBerry has zero investment in the KeyONE. They designed it and they are providing the software. All business risks of this phone is assumed by TCL, including production, supply chain, marketing and service.

      Wake up!!!

The price isnt the issue, the issue is nowhere has it in stock, I went round six stores last week and nothing..This phone will probably be the nail in the coffin for BlackBerry, as it's doubtful the Canadian government can even afford to bail them out of the hole the KEYone is going to put them in.

The number of North American carrier partners and worldwide/unlocked availability tells me that BB made a shit-ton of these things. My guess is that they erroneously believed that previous sales failures must have been the result of a lack of market exposure. They probably also believed their own press, given that a lot of the tech media gushed over a phone they'd never actually buy themselves. So just put the phone in as many stores in as many markets as possible (and bribe as many bloggers as possible with free hardware) and sales will come, right?

Wrong. The market has long since spoken on phones with faux carbon fiber backs, hardware keyboards, tiny displays and underwhelming innards. If this phone sells 1 million worldwide I'll be shocked.

hitesh, 22 Jul 2017blackberry cutting price in UK but not launching in INDIA, ... moreBlackberry seem to want to portray itself as a premium brand selling at premium prices, (Apple?) and may have captured the business market it had lost

Blackberry with this phone have now gone full circle in Android devices and this keyboard phone, so essentially a non slider Blackberry Priv

The next question is what follows this as the Dtex full touch completes the catalogue.
                      http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=8508&idPhone2=6885&idPhone3=8494

Blackberry problem is that these products are within Android so it is competing directly with all Androids and not enough to say make a case.
If I were asked, I prefer the Priv over the keyone, the priv is near 2 years old.

The abandoned BB 10 OS aka QNX, is being developed by Blackberry for use in driverless cars,
The latest version 10.3.3 typical of Blackberry OS is super secure, so whilst Android needs monthly security patches, BB 10 does not
Being in the Android pool does not make Blackberry unique indeed as the majority Android are touch screen, the DTEK compete directly with all Android phones

As you can see the price of the keyone is flagship, the specs are not

                        Still way too expensive.

How about releasing a Priv successor? How about a few models with superfast fast GPU and CPU options, a la S. 660 and S. 835?
