Well it has changed in recent years with introduction of 620 and 650 series. Also some other problems like non release of drivers etc causes problem in creating custom roms. So many phones are stuck at where the makers leave them which is usually the original version they are released with . Also gpu cant be clocked

If MTK was as community-friendly as the QC Snapdragon SoC's (which aren't even as friendly as you might believe), then sure they wouldn't be bad. As it stands, people should only buy MTK phones for their price, not for their buggy-features or Performance.... I'm looking at you Helio X25 !

I'd be really kind and helpful of GSMarena to trace and share the manufacturing origins of so called Indian smartphone brand handsets please. We are really lacking behind indigenization of technology and spending a lot of revenue on importing from countries like China or even west. Technology media houses like GSMarena, digit, phonearena, etc sharing and stressing on this factor will actually help Indian business houses to take notice of the fact that Indians are conscious of thus factor and wish to buy what is really "Made in India". Only this can truly kickstart our economy.

Mediatek makes it even worse.Mediatek chipsets are not as bad as you ppl make them look its just that manufacturers only use the lower end mediatek chipsets for their phones to gain more profits hence mediatek has a negative image in general mediateks helio line of chipsets the X And P are very competitive and best for the price at which they are sold at.

Well, the phone is definitely a bit too low-end, but it cost only around $93 (€80), so with that cheap price in mind we have to be quite nice (realistic) by saying that it is not bad (for those interested in that particular price- to - performance segment).
