AnonD-8008, 14 May 2011Where do you live?? Finland has had the 2.3.3 update for SG... more2.3.3 seems cool but it is not yet bug-free.
Laggy bootup animation, not shutdown sound anymore, battery draining (i'm among the lucky ppl getting it), small lags while deleting files and i'm using a sdhc class10 card... just to name a few.

cythe, 14 May 2011Screw Samsung. Still no Gingerbread for Galaxy S. After a w... moreto be honest samsung didnt have to offer a free upgrade to froyo which they did so you cant complain really. its the same with all technology out with the old in with the new iam afraid. but renowned manufacturers like samsung will normally offer parts support for up to 10 years even though you are very unlikely to still have the same smartphone by then lol iam sure by 2021 2g coverage will be non existant.

Nise, 14 May 2011Still no fix for the HUGE idle drain bug in sgs2... No big battery drain on original rom for me, but I had it this morning after I updated it to ke2 using kies and rooting. This evening, I hard reset by booting while holding up and menu button method, deleted and hard reset, reboot, reinstalled apps, and no more battery drain. Been using it since 7pm til 1:30a with android os at 5% usage.

Attn to GSMArena :
what about sound quality while recording video in noisy environment ?
(ie: music group/room, bar, concert, windy place, etc... ?)
I'm asking because i noticed that my 2 last samsung phones had such a problem you didn't mention (Tocco Ultra and Galaxy S) or didn't notice, a bit too much noise and the recorded sound is totally distorted/saturated.
And from my own experience, i didn't meet those problems with some other phones/brands.
If you experience that and you got any contact with samsung, please submit them that problem worthing really to be fixed, thank you.

cythe, 14 May 2011Screw Samsung. Still no Gingerbread for Galaxy S. After a w... morei've got official gingerbread even before SGS II was in sale.
Stop telling lies on the forums about Samsung. Its not Samsung's fall that (i assumed you're from US..?) your crapy operators: att, sprint, verizon etc. don't want to update your phone!!
If you want updates get yourself a) nexus s b) international and unlocked models like the i9000

They had a WiFi issue that needed fixing.
I think that two rogue wifi apps were draining the battery really fast.
But now with I9100XWKE2 someone said that after 3 hours with sync on he had a 1% battery drop... awsome! :D
@Yet Another Android:
SGS2 is still made of cheap platic.
I have a SGS and I can't say this is really a bad thing.

I recommend you use the unofficial Odin method, Kies is evil and has caused quite a lot of problems for people.
Also make sure you only use your official cable that came with your phone, some guy was using his HTC Desire USB cable and ran into problems.
Weird, eh?
