Samsung can charge you that much for it because no one else is making clamshell phones with this kind of under-the-hood specs. Just gotta appreciate it from an engineering standpoint.

People who bash this phone are not Chinese so they don't understand that that the T9 configuration makes it convenience for the Chinese language.

This phone is not made for western consumers and they are not going to sell it in North America. The only people who are going to get these are Chinese business people who can afford it, not goofballs that play games on their phones, so you don't have the complain about the price.

AnonD-638825, 27 Jul 2017It has no benefits if you are spending enough money to buy ... moreValue for money is a very subjective thing.
This might not be worth it for you and me, but that is not the same that it might not be it for others.

Personally I would have been more interested if it had one display only. To me the major benefits of clamshells are that they opened are closer to the human anatomy, that the inner screen is well protected when closed, they got physical keys and that they (still) are phone sized allowing for 100% one hand operation with a secure grip - put that is not worth $2000 to me, but still could be for others.

Eske Rahn, 27 Jul 2017Are you seriously claiming that clamshells got no benefits?... moreIt has no benefits if you are spending enough money to buy 2 flagships or a perfectly capable computer. I can get a clamshell for 50 euros or less, without running android and have enough for a main android phone that is miles faster and cheaper than this.

But whatever suits your wallet and desires.

This phone is all about nostalgia, it offers nothing that a flip case wont do on your smartphone and its not price accordingly for what it is.

You cant justify a pricetag with the "not common" nowadays, just look at what happened to Vertu and Solarin for that, they went bankrupt.

Well, if we consider the (rumored) price of $2,000, we can just stop there. But aside from that, the phone will be interesting even with the SD821/4GB, but obviously it will be much more with the SD835/6GB.

Interesting news. Sounds like the first flagship speced PHONE (not phablet) that have been released for years.

Hopefully it will be a success so other models will appear. (any brand)

I'm SO tired of all these huge almost identically designed flagships phablets from all brands the last about five years.

It seems that ALL brands buy in to the idea, that if a device is phone sized it should only come with mediocre specs.

Just as an example, you can not currently find a single phone less than 66mm wide with a FHD display. (and a single one from 2014 with 66mm)

I still don't understand how they charge so much for these models. Yes they have two screens. But they moved from two 3.5 inch 720p ones up to 4.2 inch 1080p ones. So it's not like they are huge or super high res.

(Distorted due to rules. it's a word similar to Beach) when Furious. (while with normal phones it's just tapping end furiously.)
