In Canada this is the norm for a long time now.

Btw, my iPhone goes into a bin too, because you can't have it on you as you go through the metal detector.

Security theater. Inconvenient, not humane, and not increasing security by one bit.

PHX has already started doing this over 2 months ago!

jrharbort, 28 Jul 2017From my flight experience over the past couple years, they'... moreHave they? I'm pretty sure it's just been limited to laptops (and maybe game consoles!). I'm pretty sure that you didn't have to take out any cameras or the like before.

From my flight experience over the past couple years, they've already been doing this for a while.

They should have used the image of a Blackberry Passport, instead of a Blackberry and a passport! :P:

define the size "larger than the cellphone?"

Why not just introduce longer bins with individual compartments instead of many people requiring 3-4-5 bins for all electronics and such?

NOJOPL, 28 Jul 2017That's normal procedure in Europe nothing new and I totally... moreThat is incorrect....you are NOT required in europe at all as standard....some airports YES are stricter then others but usually u ONLY have to take your laptop/tablet out but they can go in the same bin along with phone and wallet, and backpack goes through in a seperate bin. This is a seperate bin for every gadget bigger then a phone

Wait for smart-underwear, will be interesting to watch.
