"Antutu concurs with these findings, though it labels both cameras 13MP. This is likely a rounding error, but it doesn’t matter much – 12MP is the new normal for flagships." So you want to round 4160x3120= 12979200 to 12 MP? You have spread exactly the same nonsense about the Pixel 2. It's embarrassing.

2) Samsung has to have their own software. OKAY, I don't feel any reason why I need two stores to download same apps and same with other applications.
3) The For-Real good additions on top of Android are welcome but not this way where everything is doubled for no reason.
4) Other than the Note and S series phones I don't think Samsung has anything other than normal phone hardware.

OKAY, 02 Aug 2017Yes, Samsung software is so freaking good..
The phone star... moreSamsung is releasing so much peripheral hardware that Google has no API's for, that's why Samsung has to have their own software ecosystem with a security system able to handle it.
It's funny to see that the things people calls bloat on Samsung devices later turns out to be necessities on other ecosystems later. Like, the advanced voice assistant Samsung started to use, before anyone had even heard of Siri. Latest is probably the stock android support for two way information sharing with bluetooth devices to let you see current battery status and such on your phone. That was also bloat a few years ago....
The good old Sammy is laggy "argument". It's particularly funny coming from a Nokia fan. Consider Nokia always defended brain cancer inducing levels of lag on their devices with "it saves 20 seconds of battery life per day".
Please, go on. You're entertaining me. :)

For a brand that has been making the most marvel designs in the past, the new ranges of Nokia are downright disappointing. Come up with something that will remind us where we come from

Anonymous, 02 Aug 2017yes nokia had great cameras and 1020 was superb phone but.... morehaha yes it was a joke.....I do like the camera quality with carl on the controls. Nokia should do well with this phone, The nokia HMD 3310 is handy for work and I haven't charged it for weeks now. Oh one last thing the battery life in my nokia 1020 lumia is still tip top!! and I have had this 1020 since 2013. if Nokia get this right I hope the battery will be as good as the 1020. Oh after so many times dropping my 1020! it landed face down and I shattered my gorila glass( The boys at the local nokia care centre had never had one come in for repair lol!!!) so yea COME ON NOKIA THIS NOKIA 8 IS A WINNER!!

The phone starts lagging soon enough..
And obviously Play store isn't enough so we get galaxy app store
Google now isn't enough.. we get Bixby
And so on bloatware top to bottom.
No, Samsung software isn't good... Mostly the hardware is pulled back by Samsung's software. nd that's the case even with the latest and greatest Galaxy S8.

AnonD-24741, 02 Aug 2017Can you make your mind up? Is Android on a Nokia stock or i... moreHaven't you heard about roms. Stock Android can be optimised for the device (fine tuned). That's what the devs do on forums like xda. And don't you day about touchwiz aka crapwiz. They even made sd835 stutter. Samsung phones starts lagging after a few months and this is something that even the fanboys can't deny. And then they give lame excuses and put the fault on Android while devices with custom ROM works as well as it did in the first day. That's the advantage of no bloatware. And that's why they can push the update much faster and regularly.

This design was ok for Nokia 6 - a phone with SD430.
But for flagship this design is too uninspiring. Rounded back with ugly camera hump.
NOKIA must put AMOLED screens on flagship phones and not to forget dedicated camera button.
If they want to rise from the dead.

Right let me get this straight.....I have loved Nokia for years and have always used them. BMW took over the nokia building in the uk when they struggled and sold up then didn't carl zeiss go work for Apple or help them and then windows phones were born. I would say since the nokia N8( symbian software struggled in the early days but the n8 was a good phone) the phones have always been good for cams and have always been the best!! I love my nokia lumia 1020 and funny enough still using it today!! I will make this my next phone and I believe this will work running Android. WELL DONE NOKIA NOW IS THE TIME!!!

Samsung is the king of optimising Android. Introducing things like hardware accelerated UI years before anyone else on Android, or Vulkan API support was also developed with Samsung long before anyone else, including Google, were thinking on it. Samsung even goes so far as to building their own SoC's, to optimise things both on software and hardware level.

finally, a high end phone with bezels that's not ridiculously big. its not easy holding and using these 'bezel-less' phones - they're best operated when kept on a table or something.

Lighting McQueen , 01 Aug 2017What a excellent question!!!! But whatever, the Nokia 8 wil... moreThe last time A nokia phone appeared on geekbench running 835 it blew away s8 , mi6 as it runs stock Android. Op5 though came close but they have a habit of cheating. Nokia knows optimising. I have owned a Nokia xl.
