There is an app called " BatOn " in which can read the battery level of the bluetooth connected devices.
But sadly it doesn't work all the time on Android, at least it is free and deserve a try

I have Huawei P8 Lite 2015 and it shows me Bluetooth battery life of device...it's funny when some company diside do it now.... Huawei U are the best phone old but still works like new one plus camera better than Samsung J3 J5 J7 ......

Similarly I called my old Sony Ericsson "Neo Pro" rather than just "Pro", as it is just a "Neo" with a keyboard. (And SE used Pro as a suffix on several models with keyboards earlier)

Hopefully it will be used with some kind of background polling, so you could get a notification at a user selectable level, so you know when the BT-device needs to be charged.
I used a keyboard case on my (horrible) Iphone 6- , and the battery lasted for several weeks, so it was very easy to forget to charge it... So I ended making it a habit to charge it (almost) every time I charged the phablet.

So don't say finally
