Qwerty2017, 06 Aug 2017Don't be a BLIND FANBOY, DUDE... Nokia DEFINITELY trying... morecalm down bro ..

there is a big big market for people who want a reliable and trusty phone than just specs without any after sales support, for some it might be their first smartphone , for some it could be a secondary phone , for relatives, old people , office work , non tech savy people etc .. if it works "good" for calling , texting , whatsapp , facebook , browsing .. then it is good .. before writing this huge reply , you obviously didn't read the Android GO link i gave you earlier ..

here it is first read this ...

                    http://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/features/android-go-differences-android-o-one-features-price-devices-1696116

if Nokia 2 can do this job without lagging.. then it is a decent phone and specs does not matter in that case.. there is a big reason why Samsung J1 and j2 phone was their biggest seller in offline market.. people don't want to wait monthss for spare parts if their phone develops a problem , most people don't have this much time and don't want to take unnecessary hassle , please read about after sales services of xiaomi or motorola ..

coming to after sale services .. Nokia sold their feature phone business to Microsoft including all the service centres .. then HMD bought it from Microsoft and they are using many of the same old service centres .. and in addition setting up new ones by outsourcing..

Nokia 3310 and all their feature phones have a straight replacement policy.. No repairs at all..
then HMD has again and again said after sale services to be one of their major focus areas of differentiation , .. ofcourse you can say there is no proof yet etc etc ..

                    https://phonemantra.com/2017/06/hmd-global-is-planning-to-place-nokia-mobile-care-centers-in-300-cities-and-100-more-pick-up-and-drop-service-centres

but after samsung , whether you like it or not Nokia seems like the only company to have decent after sale services atleast for budget phones category where you don't find HTC , LG , sony

and i didn't say go and buy Nokia 2 , first wait for review .. if it lags for general usage , then it is a crap phone , but if it doesn't then it isn't a bad phone for offline market and if HMD lives upto it's promise of decent after sale services ..

I will wait till its build quality is tested by internauts. I keep dropping and scratching phones and i dont intend to keep my phones armored and shiny, for me it just a device like a remote which is not to be preserved... even my gf ages overtime..

Nokia12, 06 Aug 2017Nokia isn't trying to compete with those phones .. their ... moreDon't be a BLIND FANBOY, DUDE...

Nokia DEFINITELY trying to compete with CHINESE & Moto low to mid-range phone, that's why they released 2, 3, 5, & 6.

Nokia's "dream" to compete with Samsung is no more than "pipe dream".
Why? Because Nokia didn't even try to compete with their DIRECT rival; CHINESE brands. Xiaomi, Meizu, Lenovo, and Moto releases decent specs, bang-for-buck Android phone, while Nokia kept BUSY with making OVERPRICED phones like they did BEFORE WENT DOWN.

After sales of Nokia phoneis not better than Xiaomi's at this time, don't try to "sweet talk" people by saying NONSENSE, dude! In my conutry, Nokia phone ONCE ruled the market with their OVERPRICED phones and many Nokia care cervice center, BUT ionce MS bought it, ALL Nokia service center either closed down, or kept open but rejected claims for "Nokia' branded phones, only accepted "MS"-branded shit.

So, do u think people will accept Nokia again after being "betrayed" and "abandoned' once?

Do u know why people prefer Xiaomi phones, both low & high-end ones?
Because in REAL LIFE, software updates means SHIT compared to hardware specs.
Moreover, Xiaomi kept releasing MIUI updates, albeit no Android upgrades for SEVERAL Redmi phones, but the user STILL can experience the SAME new features in their phones, as the main purpose of MIUI is to make all Xiaomi's phones have "uniforn" features, no matter what Android version it was based on.

So, go enjoy those POS Nokia 2 when it is release. Happy lagging!

their main target is Samsung , and offline market with focus on after sale services , software updates and tackling oppo and vivo , which are the biggest sellers..

those who want raw specs with practically non existent after sale service are better off buying Xiaomi ,moto..

Minimum requirements means the minimum specs OS/app "theoretically" could run.
"theoretically" means, it won't feel be fluid in REAL LIFE case, especially when the user started installing 3rd party apps such as social media apps, which use lots of RAM in the background process.

In order to use this phone "fluidly", the owner needs to AVOID installing any 3rd party apps in order to minimize RAM usage. So, ONLY use out-of-the-box apps Nokia has installed, as even Google play service update requires RAM & significant free space in the ROM, which will be less and less in every installation of new 3rd party software.

So, yeah, pretty much "smartphone" in name only, as once u install few 3rd party apps, it will be slower than "dumbphone" in its operation.
