please learn about terms before you use them.
this is the cameras software recognising the subject and blurring out the background to produce a "bokeh effect". the important word here being "effect". None of that bokeh exists, its all just a Gaussian blur added after the fact.

zoom in on the monks head. youll notice the edges of it are blurred just as much as the background. software is doing this, not the hardware.
really naff effect if you ask me.
bokeh is good, but when software does it its just wrong

I don't see them releasing this globally. Any of their actual models have B20, so here don't worth buy any. Hopes....

Nothing special. My 3 years old xperia Z2 has this function- background defocus, and works great. Have made some great photos.

Processed bokeh effect is fake and gimicky. Get a real camera with a good lens.

whatever dual camera smartphone do, my entry lvl DSLR with 50mm f/1.8 lens still do way better job on blurring..and the bokeh is very nice, not disgusting like any dual camera smartphone effects. in my opinion smartphone should use only 1 camera with good sensor + OIS.
note that entry lvl DSLR + 50mm f/1.8 lens + a Redmi might be cheaper than 1 popular flagship phone.

More like massive tryhard effect. You really can't bend the laws of physics on this. Bigger sensors will always offer better bokeh. I prefer taking photos with my phone, but I definitely don't believe that they can be a replacement to a DSLR when you're doing serious photography.

I think the reason that it looks 'wrong' is that the blur of what is slightly behind and much behind looks very close to the same. What is slightly behind is too blurred, and what if far away should be more blurred...

Still can't provide the same bokeh as a decent camera would do (read: a camera, not a phone camera).
