Android security fix coming, no device update necessary

19 May, 2011
Google is already hard at work to fix the security hole that affects the security of Android apps that sync with servers on the Internet. They have found a way to fix the problem without having to update users’ devices, which is...

I use Androids because they are on better phones. I don't use Symbian or Blackberry because they are on phones that lack some features or just generally worse in terms of web browsing performance and handling media.

Yet another security issue flagged long after all necessary damage was done. Proves BB are better at a key, if not THE key feature. Proves again BB focus on a functional phone, rather than a fashion accessory for children and egotists to play with. Think about what is important not how many apps you have 90% of which you never use. Wakey Wakey!!

AnonD-2725, 19 May 2011............"not thrusting in security matters"..... moreNumber me how many Security holes have Symbian or Blackberry OS?

And compare how many against Android, the truth hurts, but Android have some errors (like iOS) in security, thats the nature of the OS, however is nice to see people working on it..

Besides this theme seems so little popular...hehehe what's matter? So many people affraid in recognize these ind of problems in ther favority OS?? versus the 200+ posts on Nokias news??

AnonD-8703, 19 May 2011Thats always the response of people who cant afford an Iphone lolBuddy I already had ALL the iPhones from the Iphone 2 to the 4 and believe me they sucks in security (I had to admite their gadgets are great), if you didn't realize, Dev Team make one of the Jailbreak on one big Security Hole (Jailbreame), So, Apple sucks big time in their own os plagued of errors...

I leave Apple boat since I was tired to play "mouse and cat chase" waiting to Dev Team, Geo Hotz or whatever they appear in make an new Jailbreak over and over again, any time Apple make a new version of iOS I have to wait some nerd to get a fresh new Jailbreak NO WAY...

In nokia all I had to do is Sign my apps and still working like charm...

        Alas Android... :P

Android seems to be rusting... moreits just like virii on personal computers, why would you waste time writing and ceveloping the code for a small ecosystem, andriod is the big up and coming ecosystem so it makes the most sense to write for that sector, why waste time developing malicious code for a small and receding ecosystem such as blackberry

This IS good news for Android. It's good that Google is taking quick measures for this security gap. Any system, any device has bugs; Android too. It's a good thing that Google takes care of it.

All devices that connects to the internet are vulnerable to security holes. That includes ATMs, Laptops, Computers, Cellphones, Tablets, etc etc. Even your telephone line is vulnerable to wire tapping and so on.

So in the end, don't go bragging, OMG iOS is better and Android sucks. I could slap side by side unto your face an iPAD 2 until it breaks down for not remembering last issue on the previous tracking hole on iOS.

If you want, you could go to the ol' N3210 for better security on your phone. LOL

This isn't good new for android...

Now android users feels like betrayed, since their 'favorite' OS has some Bugs and Security holes, and google admit it...is not just a 'little bug' is a very big one...

And this one is adviced...how many more are 'unawared' or jus 'unadviced', I will think twice before use freely an android device...

Is more secure after al Nokia (Symbian) and Blackberry OS, looks like Google is more concerned on sales than security...Too bad for users, they are 'lab rats' for Google and Apple since they also have a lot of security holes...

Shame on Android...Shame on Apple...not thrusting in security matters
