I just bought a Blackberry Curve. And found that I can not read
          Korean character with it.
Is there anyway that I can read emails which are written in korean.

Does the Blackberry Data connection work in South Korea? Is there a Sim Card that Verizon provides when they sell the phone or do I need to buy a sim card in South Korea when I get there?

Yes it will work in Canada, well at least with VZW it will. Any of their phones will work regardless as long as you have the North America plan you'll be safe to talk without roaming charges.

it's obviously not going to work in Japan...no UMTS transceiver operating at 2.1GHz

To be able to use roaming in most of countries you don't have to use quad band gsm, please learn each country system for their mobile. For example: South Korea, etc.

I think is wonderful to have a dual-technology phone. At the same time it makes sense for this "World phone" to support all 4 GSM bands due to the fact that CDMA cannot offer the roaming coverage GSM does.
