One thing is sure: it won't be Oreo. Lockheimer already teased Oreo and anything Lockheimer teases doesn't become the final name. How about Android Orange Marmalade?

It's going to be called - Omega. You say it's coincidence, naming the next Android OS on the day of the Eclipse ..... Its the sign of the times ! It marks the end of calling it after sweet foods, and the start of the things about to happen. [ Rev.12:1- ]

Really this is confusing, previous version is called oreo, then called octopus, then oatmeal cookies and then it called oreo again, really full of enigmatic pressure, but i'm sure android version will make a surprise among previous versions, hope also some feature for android o also used previous version though some android can't update.

Once when I was a Google Nexus User, I was waiting and dreaming of the new upcoming android... now, when the Nexus line is DEAD and the retarded Overpriced Google Pixel is on the market, I really couldn't give less of a crap about it, or it's upcoming Name... Even MIUI is more interesting.

i think naming of android OS is always patterned to sweets as what previous android versions did like eclair, froyo, gingerbread,..... KITKAT, lolipop, marshmallows, nougat, so naming it as OREO is not surprising anymore.

Three years ago, Google did a skit called, "The search for L." People should check it out. Even said maybe next, next, next year is Oreo. In the Octopus Easter Egg in Android 8.0.O, the Octopus head is shaped like an Oreo.
Google likes to tease us. The skit mentioned Muffin for next year when it became Marshmallow. So maybe it looks like Oreo but ends up Oatmeal Cookie like Nutella became Nougat. But then many thought it would be Key Lime Pie when it became KitKat.
