The red one looks absolutely great, and they even don't have a disgusting and ugly white front, but a black one.

Sadly, that's the only thing I can compliment them on. You're presented with an ugly choice:

Zenfone 4 with decent camera, decent midrange cpu (even though SD 660 would've been much better), but crappy, tiny battery.

Zenfone 4 Max with a great, big battery, but a low-end crap cpu, and the camera is clearly worse as well (single only and no OIS).

Having one with a good, big battery *and* good cpu *and* good camera is obviously asked too much.

Rex Tech, 16 Aug 2017I haven't read more overprotective bs comment from a person... moreI mean SD 630 has same "features" like ISP, modem and etc not performance. SD 630 is designed for battery life and less heat not for performance like SD 660. Even Zenfone 3 with same SoC can beat Moto Z Play's perform with stock android UI on Tech Trinkets channel and Mi5 with SD 820 and there is no big difference perform (depends UI's optimization) about SD 625 and SD 650 perform. You are too Underestimate.

Nowadays, design all smartphone is indetical, even Nokia 8 is looks like Lenovo Phab 2 Pro... so it should be not suprising.

you can buy Galaxy S6 or Honor 8 but here is no Honor 8 ( Huawei P9 is available here but its hard to find, maybe it sold already) and get a second condition S6 without SD expand, 32GB only, no official guarantee for cheaper, short battery life, heavy UI and older OS. Huawei P9 its a great phone, your comment remind me about P9 hehe but no guarantee due second condition and its may have Galaxy S6's weakness.

Agree, thats why Zenfone 3 Deluxe its fail on market cause its price no one buy that phone I think. Only Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Max series which it success in my country's market.

And the most importantly, Im just sharing my opinion. Whatever you call it BS,WTS,WTB,SBS,IDGAF,WTH and whatever lah...

Anonymous, 16 Aug 2017Late? Its better than nothing release like C5/C7 or Xperia ... moreI haven't read more overprotective bs comment from a person who knows knothing about chipsets nor phones.

First of all Asus zenfone 3 series came July. Now they will come september.
The design is the same as the phones i mentioned,Asus last year had same backs as Samsung A5 and you know it but you are denying it.Asus VR for example had a different design but nobody bought it.This year,Asus is copying other companies including Samsung too without putting much effort into creating new design like LG or huawei.
True tho,C5 and C7 were a disappointment, but consider Samsung doesn't expect much for these models to be bought, nor people except much.On other hand Asus needs to rely on these phones as income.

Snapdragon 630 same as 660 ? The chipsets have major differences between them.First of all the snapdragon 630 is the same A53 chipsets built as 625.Snapdragon 660 is Kryo cores something Snapdragon 821 is built on.You are comparing a A53 midrange core to Kryo for high end phones. That's absurd and pointless.

Also the Adreno on the 660 aka the graphic card has a major difference compared to the one on the 625 and 630.The snapdragon 652 and 653 can handle up to QHD screens and have smooth gaming. On other hand the 625 can only handle FHD screen so it can have smooth experience. The 630 is offering 30% faster cores, support for Bluetooth 5, a faster LTE modem, USB 3.1 with USB-C, a new ISP, and Quick Charge 4.0 but NOTHING on the level of 652,653 and 660.
Cameras on the Asus phones are great, decent but they will be the same on these models considering these models will be with 625 and 630.maybe with new features and mods.

New UI ? Yes,the new UI is nice and all,but have you used the UI on Asus ? it's a ram heavy eating software which will leave you with few ram left.A 2 gb ram phone has 600 ram left.A 3 gb ram phone has 900 mb left.I saw it myself while using the phones.Asus offers same software as Samsung, heavy one.

And it is overpriced.Asus zenfone 3 series were 400$ same to to Galaxy 6 or huawei honor 8.I'd rather buy Honor 8 than this.Literally nobody bought Asus zenfone 3 deluxe that was same price as Samsung galaxt s7 edge 128 gb version.

At least you will get better things on a Huawei phones with lighter UI,same camera and better chipset for same price than this.

€150-200 tech in a ASUS €400 wrapper. I mean €400 for a Snapdragon 630, when you can get phones with 625 for half? With bigger battery even.

Rex Tech, 16 Aug 2017Late release Back of the phones looking like Oneplus,honor... moreLate? Its better than nothing release like C5/C7 or Xperia X series or HTC series here.

What you expect about design? Do you want a phone like BB Gemini or Nokia N-Gage? Maybe ASUS should be replace camera to center back body.

SD 630 isnt weak as you think, it has same high-end feature like SD 660 (check it on Snapdragon's web) and the most importantly is a optimization of Android UI. It has great battery life than Perform based SoC on 600 series like Snapdragon 660.

Overpriced? Its depends location. Here is no HTC,Sony and OnePlus.

Zenfone 4 has backlit LED button, front mounted fingerprint sensor, newer SoC,Wide Angle cam,Newer OS,Newer UI and better looking design (based Zenfone 4 leaks on YouTube) and if still not worth, Zenfone 3 will more cheaper.

And ya... hope ASUS read your comment.

            Late release
Back of the phones looking like Oneplus, honor 9/mi 6 and samsung c5/c7 copy paste.
            Old chipsets or weaker ones.
            Overpriced as usual
No upgrade over the past models.Except for the large pixels on the front and back cameras, quality remains the same.
Asus, please, you can do better than this.
