The bling-bling from Nokia...I am so sorry for this company but it is going downhill lately..and it seams that the bling-bling was what they were missing not the technology. Samsung must be jubilating right now..

      Good bye, Nokia !

AnonD-1131, 26 May 2011Alright, you see I like Nokia but this Symbian OS they have... moreAgree

This market is very volatile, Android may have the days counted, maybe not.

But one thing is for sure, more players are entering the game, so will e cool to se how Google is going to react at this..

I remember the day Android phones was counted by 1 or 3 by carrier, now all has changed, however, the only two real players in game was Apple OS and Blackberry, Nokia stills on but Symbian was not of taste to everybody.

Apple OS was cool indeed, very revolutionary and attractive to youngsters (gamers) and Multimeda Lovers, Blackberry was the king (and stills) for Business Class Users, Android is for everyone.

WP comes renovated and focused for all, more on the media-business-game market it has a little of all, with a pus, Microsoft knows their own game very well, so if they put this one on, they can be a very competitive OS indeed.

Anonymous, 26 May 2011The "crappy OS" will have updates until at least ... moreAlright, you see I like Nokia but this Symbian OS they have needs to go. It's nowhere near the Japanese Symbian and WP is the way to go for Nokia. 5 more years of Symbian for Nokia is a sure way to bring the company down. It's not doing so good against Android right now so what makes you think it will do better in the next 5 years? Nokia is getting rid of 4000 Symbian developers so I wouldn't keep my hopes up that it will suddenly get better and mature enough to take on Android. WP is the way to go for Nokia.

I was just looking at the base model celly (Nokia C7 which has been out since Oct 2010) this was adapted from, and it's 220 Euros. So, they just "pimped" it and added 600 Euros to price. LOL!

I think I'll get some base models, and press gold leaf and glue diamontes all around the rim, and sell 'em for $1,000! ;)

no sir! They will keep it nicely for a decade or so until the ph is on a high demand either as antique or rare piece, this can still be reconsidered as long term investment, dont u agree on that?

this is just a phone for those who want to look wealthy. if you really wanna show off and you really have money, buy a Vertu. This is just a useless phone for those who would like a Vertu, but cant afford it, but on the other side want to look rich.

Not all rich people are the same. See, I'm freaking rich, so I'm better than you."

nokia will have a little market with this phone. Consumers are demanding for phones with complete package. Wifi, better camera, faster o.s, battery stamina, and high def. Screen, . I think nokia should focus on its content rather than the looks. For me its better to have a qwerty keybord with capacitve screen coz its more convinient than pure touchscreen.

I happen to know some very wealthy people; they're multi-millionaires, by the way. They don't buy phones to show off their wealth; they buy big homes, luxury cars, yachts, jewelry and designer clothes. All of them rock iPhones and/or top end Androids for cell usage.

Those rich people who buy such phones don't even care. They want something just to show everyone else that they are wealthy.

                                  1. Again, they don't give a damn. They only care about the flashy looks.
                                  2. Are there any full gold phones?!
                                  3. Doesn't matter to them. It looks good.
                                  4. Really?! Nobody?! Then why everything that is considered to be luxury has leather? Maybach? Rolls Royce?

How is this phone going to be considered an investment? Does it's market value increase over time?

                                      1. The technology will get superseded within months.
                                      2. The price of gold does tend to increase over time. However, there's so little actual gold on this phone (it's only 18ct plating) that the extraction of it would probably cost more than it's worth.
                                      3. Sapphires are about as common as gravel.
                                      4. Nobody cares about old leather; it's worthless.

Maybe (and that's a big maybe) in 20 years the Oro could be considered an antique or a collector's item, and therefore fetch a high price. However, from where I stand, it's just a vanity item.
