you'd think that companies would, y'know, try to bend their phones and test for these things before they release them and let someone on Youtube do it...

Anonymous, 18 Aug 2017So as a result its repairability is worse nowNo it is not. The Blackberry KeyOne has to be opened from the back unless you want to change the screen. Also you can sacrifice the old screen if you want to change it,I assume.

AnonD-682035, 18 Aug 2017i do hope this fix applies to black limited edition release... moreThe black Indian version comes in two batches. The first made by TCL for Optiemus, from september they will be produced BY Optiemus, according to Crackberry. I can hardly imagine that at the least the upcoming ones from India, will not include the fix.

"...the first lot of Limited Edition Black devices ("just a few devices") was provided to them by TCL but come September the units shipping to customers will be Made in India."

Talk about promptness. Sure it could have been better designed in the first place, but credit where it is due: they rectified the situation properly.

Blackberry still means business. And that's good.

Glad to see a manufacturer issuing fixes to problems rather than trying to ignore them

                          Good job TCL!

Though they OUGHT to have marked it somehow so people could be sure they buy a fixed model.
Both on the box, and somehow visible on the phablet (and perhaps they have) e.g. the model number under "About..."

How do you, envisage manufactured before July and after, most of defective units still lying on shops, and new one will arrive 3 months later for retail. Pathetic!
