I guess the people who has joystick problems are either abusing them or your fingers are just too big. On all sites people complain about joystick on all phones. all my SE phones' joysticks works very well until I either give em to someone else or otherwise. the phones are phones and should be used as such, they aren't game consoles. all the phones have 'in menu' shortcuts, which comes in real handy and allows for quicker scrolling, try them and this will probably lengthen the lives of your joysticks. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE P1 TO BE RELEASED TO GET MY PAWS ON IT!

For vineet: The "W" at the beginning of the model means "walkman" series. The "T" in other models some say that is for "trendy" or maybe "thin". :P

I love the T650 however was wondering 2 things, when is it released? i mean the month? it says quarter 3 everywhere but when is this? also how does it compare to the likes of the K810 etc would it be worth getting this instead?
it looks like a great phone but unsure whether to get it when it comes out.
thanks

i also agree with gianni...
we all have our own preference and style... so every phone should find its buyers... I personally like the T650... find the way the keys are "printed" on the cover(not on the tiny keys) nice...
don't know what was meant by "some nice illumination effects which are linked to on-screen animations", but i'm expecting much from these effects...
btw, the keys may be veryveryvery small in size, but i think SE have tested them and found them practicable before marketing them... i'm telling this coz i had the same impressiion when i saw the W888.. but when i wrote a msg using the keys, i was impressed... it was FLAWLESS.. the FIRST message had not even 1 misake....

To the one who claimed to be a "salesmen" and posted a comment on 2007-05-10 08:27....
hey guy, if ur a great guy who knows exactly what people wants and dislikes... then, why don't you send a letter and ask SonyEricsson to employ you as their marketting director? Maybe the one working for SE at present is less skilled than you are... don't you think ur the one who deserve his well paid job??? maybe you are the one SE's waiting for.... MAYBE....
in my opinion, the T650 is a very stylish phones....
the numbers and letters are so nice when they light up directly from the casing(they are printed directly on the casing, not on the keys)...
nice phone...
actually using a W800...
used E398, W800, W810... nokia 8850

I'm looking forward to read the first reviews of S500. I've been looking for a slider for a long time now (currently own Samsung D500) but haven't found one. I've thought of buying sliders like LG Shine, Samsung U600 and Samsung D900i but all of them have had their problems (though I haven't tested them, except Samsung D900): LG Shine hasn't got very good usability and the Samsungs are too slim and plasticy for my taste -- as well as having poor ergonomics due to the touch keys and the flat keypad.
S500i (black/green) definately looks great. It doesn't bother me at all that it has only 2MP camera and no 3G (if I wanted to use the Net, I'd buy a smart phone and if I wanted pro pics, I'd buy a digital camera). The only things that I'm worried about are build quality (ergonomics, quality of plastic) and UI. I'm told I shouldn't worry about the latter as apparently SEs UI is top notch. However, I've read the comments that S500 looks better in pics than in real life and that the plastic used is a bit creaky. I guess it all depends on how creaky are we talking about: can one live with it or does it make the mobile seem like a toy phone.
Anyway, this might be my first SE mobile (being a Finn, I guess I always have avoided SE mobiles and have never used one). And as it definately has the looks, isn't too slim (Samsung's 10-12mm is too slim for my taste), has got a decent looking keypad (digits on the small side but at least not flat as with Samsung -- and Motorola) and apperently is nice to use. So really the only thing here is that is it too "plasticy".
BTW, one has to remember that Samsung D900 has won designer awards and received high praise, and it's a mobile that definately feels "cheap" and that is so plastic that the slider-part wobbles. So I guess it's important to clarify how plasticy and how creaky are we talking about.

oh my, every SE except W880i IS CREAAKY!!! Cheap plastic fones... What nokia did you test? Maybe 3310? even heard of stainless steel 6300, E61, E61i, N91, 8800, 5500 etc? E65, E90, N76, N93i are very good buitt. Remember SE which are made of metal or do not creak?

well i totally agree with gianni Nokia built quality has gone worse lately it was the the best solid phones in the market for many years remeber the 6600 and 3310 now if you have seen the flagship of nokia the N95 it's packed with every feature they done a great job with that but the built quality is not good the slide is loose even mine is new and made in finland and the squeekin in the upper slide also the back cover is a little loose i wonder if it can manage a couple of years of using and stay in one piece

dudes the answer for all these comments is that people have different tastes so people prefer different mobile phones. So SE is inventing mobile phones to catch up with people tastes. So if you don't like these models just say i don't like them.
Oh and btw I tested several sony ericsson phones and nokia phones, I prefer SE then nokia because of several things:
SE is built better
SE has a better camera (tested K800 and N73)
SE's OS is nicer although Nokia's OS is good
well it's just my opinion :) cheers

I agree with some people about the few improvements or new features over the actual SE phones. These phones have the same features ( I am pretty sure that the same old but good interface will be the same for theses phones), the same resolution cameras, same screens, almost same design in S500 vs W580, etc etc.
But I agree too with some other people that say that SE has a reason to launch almost same design phones like s500 & w580: Not everyone like the W series nor body colors and prefer a more elegant design (s500).
So I think that SE is doing a good choice (maybe not the best because the few technical improvements), but oh my gosh, it has many beautiful designs and in most of the cases the people prefer the design over the functions. So I think that is a good move.
But nothing of this phones is made for me. I prefer to wait for something revolutionary
