It is maybe also the XZ is much more unique compare to Z. Anyway it's just a name. Hopefully the competitors don't try to copy XZ naming...

its very simple
after z5 series ... moregood brand would make it easier to follow. you can follow it because you have enough brand knowledge. im not a sammyboy, but i admit samsung has a lot better naming convention. i can even predict easily what the next year samsung phones. those phones will be a5 2018, s9, note9. iphone fans and any other non samsung fans can also do it.
actualy the Z naming convention was a lot better. z z2 z3, zc z2c z3c, etc. dont know why sony change it.

those MWC releases are just minor upgrades
all real upgrades are done in IFA except that xz premium or a flop like x performance(which was also a solid device for many)
if u guys follow sony then you can easily manage to point out the names
its like those who didn't knew what was iphone se just because they never followed apple more than needed

most people never flash their phones with other firmware because they afraid to do that.
selling phone with disabled fingerprint is the biggest mistake.

FYI, I heard some user updates their firmware to UK versions, they can use the fingerprint. Sony won't made the unfriendly fingerprint at the side of the camera, that is enough annoying in daily usage.
