Original Samsung Galaxy J7 running Nougat again spotted on WFA's website

Finally got Nougate update - 7.1.1. on my J700T1. Runs a bit quicker, less memory. New device maintenance show 7.5 Gb available storage space, and 519 available RAM - after running 1-click button. Shows a score of 100, EXCELLENT! Samsung Experience ver 8.5, Security patch level date = August.1,2017.
Since warranty is over anyway - Now time to root it to remove them dang bloatwares from MetroPCS.

I think its a matter of time now ... though I do noticed that these 2 models, even under the J7 2015 were made in 2016. Could it be that Samsung only considers phones made in 2016 to get Nougat?

Upcoming Nougat update for the original J7 will be a seamless update IF your J7 already runs the marshmallow OS 'out of the box'. Simply put, this J7 release was made in 2016 with the 2Gb of RAM running Samsung Octo-core cpu @ 1.5 Ghz with NFC - if you dont have this model, then think again if you want to do the update. What they tested are J7's with this min specs, dont think they tested J7 manufactured in 2015.

Grubba, 27 Aug 2017Isn't this just typical of Samsung playing Slowmo' once again.It is better to be slow and careful.. The last thing you would want is an update that broke your phone.. For example the "king" of updates Apple with their deadly incremental 10.2.1, 10.3, 10.3.1, 10.3.2, 10.3.3 updates LOL

What about the galaxy a9 pro ? It has been sported running nougat since june .. the update is still not here .. nor the security patch level .. even smaller devices like j7 prime got july security patch update ... When will the a9 pro get the nougat update ?

punmeisterone, 26 Aug 2017From what I see this is the T-mobile variant.Yep - most likely it is actually - its refer to as the SM-J700T1, and does exist indeed. It is marketed under TMobile / MetroPCS combo flavor which was released last May of 2016.
Look it up as SM-J700T1. I believe it is a 'stop-gap' or a bridge between the 2015 model and the 2016 models.
SM-J700T1 is a 2Gb RAM offering instead of 1.5 of the 2015 model. It offers also a 3000mAh battery, NFC and OS version 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.
Powered by Samsung EXYNOS 7580 Octo-core @ 1.5 Ghz chipset.
- GPU chipset: ARM Mali-T720. Resolution @ 720x1280.
- Fingerprint - on samsung release key.
Lastly the Graphics API = OpenGL ES 3.1 ..... which I am excited to hear that it meets Nougat update requirement.
