29 August 2017
This has been available in North America and Asia for a while, but now the old continent gets it with a side of "expensive".

I'm a hopeless Nokia fan, but I can certainly appreciate a damned good phone when I see one. And the HTC U11 is damned good.

I used GSMArena's Comparison tool to view their specs side by side, and the choice is tough for a casual shopper. It will come down to either Brand Loyalty, Design, or that ONE feature that stands out for you.

      Good luck and happy shopping.

        Strong as hell
        OZO Technology
        Screen on screen
Central cooling core maintains maximum performance
Finger sensor on the front very natural for thumb
        All metal
        Zeiss lens
Attention to detail, finesse on body bulk to thin edge
Best LCD screen ever - actually a sensible thought out screen
        Jack
        Perfect size

Might prefer it to my saturated Oled. I am also a GREAT fan of HTC so kind of torn between the 2 but I like the all metal design that has been through a transformation process of beauty. So has HTC but that has glass added.

..totally agree, i waited for the Nokia 8 with great expectation, but when i take a hard look at it, i am better off keeping my old Lumia 830, with wireless charging and 10mp Pureview cam that still has not been bettered.

The only way to make Wireless Charging work is that the phone should have a back made of anything other than metal. Nokia having a glass back would be a travesty. I'm glad they went metal but then again, I wished Nokia would make their flagships to be made of military grade polymer so not only they have Wireless Charging but it'll be "bendproof" and "shatterproof".

Ok, the S7 is still good but the majority of the target customers right now are those who are one-sided enough to want the latest and additional specs, nothing more. The S7 was so last year so we should move on to that. If you have a S7, keep it until the DynamIQ architecture is here.

About Carl Zeiss, I didn't know about that happening but hey, give their "rebonded" partnership some more time for their next flagships.

I know that a first time is not good enough. Maybe their next iterations will improve on that drastically.

True, it doesn't stand out from the heard, but I like it just fine. Phones are just too capable these days for me to say that one "beats" the other. I think it just comes down to personal taste nowadays.

The owner of either t... morePeople are unhappy with the Nokia 8 because it's hardly a Nokia phone, it offers no innovation and could of been made by any Chinese brand, yes I know hmd has ex Nokia workers but this phone doesn't even have wireless charging and Nokia invented that

Let's put it this way apart from a snapdragon 835 the Nokia 8 doesn't even touch a Samsung s7 that is 17 months old

The Samsung s7 has a bigger sensor, raw support, manual controls, wireless charging, is fully waterproof, a better screen and it's 17 months older than the Nokia 8

Yes it's great to see the name Nokia back but cmon man I can buy a Samsung s7 for 300 pounds and it offers me more than the Nokia 8 for twice the price

Also this zeiss optics... I don't believe it... In March Nokia said they wasn't working with zeiss... There was a huge fuss made on phone forums... In June Nokia announce they are working with zeiss again... In August they announce the Nokia 8... I am sorry but how much input can zeiss have had... Hardly any... Prototypes would of been made... Lenses already designed...materials chosen... Factories tuned for mass production... Yet Nokia expects me to believe that in two months zeiss designed the Nokia 8 optics... Yeah right... If I was gsm arena is be chasing that up and asking how much input zeiss actually had

Fact is a lot of us old Nokia fans expected more, all we get is a 600 pound device that can't even beat a 17 month old s7 ffs

I've noticed though, that the 4/64 version of the U11 is around the same price as the Nokia 8. And still I see some people complaining that the N8 is overpriced even though both phones offer similar specs. Some folks on here are just a strange bunch.

Get your Nokia 8, Love the Community. I like it too.

The mic frequency on the 8 is clearly stronger and higher quality than the U11.

I'll try to provide video proof later but yeah, try to find it in the meantime.
