Sad truth, 31 Aug 2017This is a problem in third world countries.. they buy phone... moreNote8 is available with dual-SIM and that's a high tier phone. In my corner of the world it's currently only available with dual, as single SIM will come later. How much data a phone uses depends more on which apps and settings the user choses than on how much it costs. As for updates to the OS itself, I've had two big updates in four years, on a high tier device, both on WiFi. But buying expensive phones to brag is probably a bad idea. They quickly become yesterdays news.

You make it sound as though apple develop a new OS for every version of iPhone they release and Samsung just slap on android straight from google. I guess they don't modify it at all with their own skin/options/apps?

Dude, use your head for the god's sake. iPhone 7 plus is the competitor of Note 8 not the regular one.
Fun Fact - Hardware cost of a galaxy flagship is far more than iPhones.
Cry million times if you want but you can't just say that Samsung's hardware is cheaper.

So many years apple was bashed for being overpriced. Now you can buy 3 iphones for the price of 2 notes. Or you can buy a ps4 and an iphone for the price of the note.
I have said this a million times. Samsung should be cheaper because they don't rely on other manufacturers for components. They use a ready made OS and the components they develop to sell to other companies. Apple develops their OS and buy components from Samsung and other companies. Buying from other companies implies that the price is higher as both companies need to make profit. So Samsung is a rip off and is fortunate enough to have a lot of fanboys and sheeps. Samsung is the new apple and is even worse.

As of August 31, the price of Note8 in Turkey is roughly $1,441.75 USD.
It will definitely sell 11 million units.

It's only 200$ difference with 1 year old phone. I don't see Note 8 being overpriced compared to iPhone, while "which phone is better" is debatable.
For previous Note 7 owners, Note 8 costs just 500$ so it's a treat for them. I also think Note 8 is overpriced though, they should've priced it at 850$ instead.

If Note 8 is gonna sell well, then it's a sign for them to be able to raise prices even more next time. I hope iPhone can still sell well despite the higher price and Note 8 sale tank, then i can get it cheaper 😆

I do not understand why should i buy a mobile phone such Note 8 instead buying S8+. Note 8 is much more expansive, bigger, but with smaller battery. Why ?? Useless

In fact, budget phone works better in third world counties then like say iPhone or Samsung! iPhone / Samsung updates takes up tons of network bandwidth.. which makes updates sucked. And they rely on multiple sim cards / prepaid to cut telco cost, top tier phones have no dual sims.
Its the people that need to be educated with how they spend money. In richer countries.. no one cares what phone you have, they just buy whatever suits them.
So just let them complain.. it can't be helped.
