I have been using Lumia 950 XL since launch and the camera is extra ordinary with Carl Zeiss Lenses and Manual Modes to tweak settings. Moreover, the "Rich Capture" function does everything.

I've compared Nokia 8 and P10 especially side by side and they trade blows in terms of image quality.. Nokia 8 processing is much warmer and there is less overblown highlights.. P10 is much cooler with a bit more detail but lose a lot in overblown highlights.. Overall considering the P10 is backed up by the more powerful 20MP B&W sensor compared to Nokia 8's 12MP B&W sensor, the NOKIA 8 really excelled here with its image quality.. Nokia 8 did SPLENDIDLY given the regular sensors but it is still far and away from the mighty Nokia 808 that I still use daily to this day.. One could only dream of a marriage of the 41MP sensor updated with the OIS, BSI and PDAF and Android.. Better yet a dual 41MP sensor setup.. Sigh.. The most powerful soc in Android today the SD835 could not handle even one of the 41MP beast as it is limited to 32MP.. Guess I have to live with the Nokia 808 for another 3 years

Although not a one came close to Lumia 950 (not to mention Lumia 1020 or 808) but to me P 10 is surprisingly great, Meizu also leaves great impression and so does the G6 , i7 theworst then comes N8 and S8

got and old mate 7 and a new iPhone 6s plus and there is almost no difference in quality.
even my old desire hd makes good pictures and that one is 7 years old

You guys should also try to put one mystery camera for bench mark or a one from yesteryear cough (1020-808-n8-previous year top cameras) so we know how much better these new cameras really are. :D

Why not use p10 plus instead of p10? The others are top camera phones, just not Huawei. What a failure.

Not only in detail, but every image from it contains the best colors with probably the best dynamic range as well.
And we all do know by now that the U 11 is the best camera phone today.
The XZ Premium takes good low light shots that only fail behind in pixel peeping (very popular in Social Media apps like Facebook lol).
Stabilize it and the XZ Premium takes amazing low light shots with details that others just simply cannot match up.
And the Nokia 8 is a worse low light shooter than the XZ Premium, yet it gets the credibility to be here - dafq is up with that?
So the main problem is that you proposed your hypothesis out of nowhere, where nothing is present but hatred against Sony.
