Unless something unexpected happens (ban of chinese smartphones in us, Europe, india, etc for example), at the rate of huawei growing and samsung stagnating, we might finally get a new marketshare king.

Alien, 07 Sep 2017Finally someone that actually has a clue. Huawei is doing g... moreMhhh i don't hang out with teenagers. At least here in portugal, 12y old use the low end samsung, alcatel smartphones.
16y old kids use low/mid-end sony Huawei Htc
20y olds are into huawei deeply mid tier (lots of primes or older p8 models) and LG
25y old go all samsung mid-top tier (lots of S6, s6 edge and S7
30y olds like me we go for a budget flagships mostly like OnePlus/Nexus devices. On my town here in portugal 5 or 6 including me are already sporting the oneplus 5.
Rarely you see a samsung s8 around here.

Portugal isn't a rich country, most can't afford or don't want to afford a samsung

Alien, 07 Sep 2017Finally someone that actually has a clue. Huawei is doing g... moreYeah, sure, you're definitely right from your amazing research.
A LOT of companies stick to Huawei or Samsung for company devices. And I can confirm for a fact that in Spain and Bulgaria (east AND west EU) there's a pretty noticeable number of Huawei users, a lot more than you see LG and HTC actually. The store I work with generally has a lot of models of Samsung and Huawei devices, and just very few of HTC, LG, Lenovo and occasionally Motorola, so no, it's not just Asia.

iPhones range from $399 to $969. Huaweis from $6 to $500. Doesn't really matter if they sell more of them.

Huawei is doing great only in China and india. The rest of the world wants quality. I'm from Europe and only teenagers with no budget are seen using these cheap phones. Usually they are offered for free with the minimum contract.
This is the only reason you see people in Europe actually using one. Because they got it for free.

look at how before the new product launches they all dip then spike, this will be short lived.

This is only logical: Huawei launches new models every other month, while Apple upgrades their models only once a year... But, all credit to Huawei, because they've upped their game and have delivered some very nice phones recently.

It would be nice if Huawei could keep this position for much longer because I love the way how they managed the company by the years. But we all know that apple is about to drop the new iphones and its allways calm before the storm. They will hit new selling records as usual and the autumn time will be theirs. But still belive that apple is loosing their reputation year by year.
