I can only say this Sonyuser 85, In all the phones I have in the last 26 years, Sony, Samsung and Apples have never failed me and Sony Ericsson. Nokia some have been good and others terrible and HTC I would never get again for atrocious customer support!

You could be right about Sony phones being the most reliable but I know Sony considering TV technology and PlayStation backgrounds should be doing more to make there phones desirable and appealing to attract people and to make them hold there value better.

Sony Ericsson was the best partnership ever and I'm sad to see it go, They are my favourite all times phones especially the P900 oh how I miss those!

Until then Notes all the way for me.

What's the angle , 10 Sep 2017Lol your comments sum up exactly what I think of my Sony Z5... moreIndeed Z5 family was the most unfortunate high-end devices made by Sony. Even with that Sony had the least problematic/defective components from factory made, devices. They were fragile indeed and because of bad maintaining problems appeared. But comparing to Samsung reliability it's a big difference in good. For those who understand and can manually optimize Sony's software, it's the best buy!

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2017your name says Sonyuser85, so if the note 8 had Sony Brandi... moreMy nickname is because I have a friend that is working in a national service electronics repair center. He is a Sony user, although he has lots of money and devices to choose from. He had a statistic of most reliable components and here Sony is a: must have. And he gave me also to test this model (very new indeed and I was very curious; he gave me many other devices to test by time). N8 design is great, but for sure it's not enough for this sum of money to be considered the best device on the market. At least for the ones that have the know-how of some things. Once again it's not top notch device, it's a top remake. That is why I sincerely can say that N8 is a bad joke. But buy it and then we'll talk. G6 can kick its ass regarding overall design and camera at least.

Your argument is rather flawed my friend.

If you look around your house and see all the things you have and how much you use them.....

Well here's the point there used everyday and that's why there plugged nearly all of the time!

Television will be the most probably expensive piece of kit in every household but it's not mobile nor needs a rechargeable battery, Also let's say you spend £3000 on LG's latest 55inch Oled 4k HDR screen, You will no doubt expect that to last you 5-10 years but it's not always on 24/7 like you expect a mobile to be.

Mobile phones are more comparable to fashion/ clothing or Bling! Most people want to have the latest handset be Apple or Samsung or Sony or LG or HTC or some of the other brands. Ironically it's become about keeping up with the Jones's . Ask yourself what does the latest handset do that your old one can't?

Exactly! It looks prettier, It may go a bit faster but it still access's the Internet, Goes on twitter and Facebook etc

Were just always trying to keep up with the fashion of having the latest handset.........if you didn't buy the phones, Prices would come down rapidly... Prime example the LG G6! Food for thought isn't it :-)

Lol your comments sum up exactly what I think of my Sony Z5 and every Sony phone since there split with Ericsson!!

The Note 8 may be everything you say but it has the SPEN which I love and use and miss!

The Z5 was a replacement to fill in for the Note 7 I should have had. It's not even close to filling in for it!

I will never buy a Sony again I doubt because the Xperia's always look plain and dull, Feel plain and dull and my £630 Z5 after 3 months depreciated to £200.

The Note's hold there value quite well! Enjoy your Sony rubbish because I can't wait to get my Note 8 and get rid of my Sony rubbish!

                Note 8 SD835
                LG V30 SD835
                One Plus5 SD835

                LG G6 SD821 (2016)

The LG G6 is a 2016 processor in a purported 2017 flagship and original released at a 2017 flagship price!!
Big mistake LG and so there practically giving them away! Myself personally if I wanted to Upgrade this year will be going for the Note 8, Yes it's got a smaller battery but it lasts about as long as the S8plus in tests, the one plus 5 beats it but then one plus are not exactly known for there build quality and customer service!

You can buy a mid range phone, external HDD, laptop, headphone, sub and some more stuff with this amount of money. If you are not a pc user I don't know.

Its good but pricy. v30 is better . this.year , lg became a better oneplus. oneplus 5 is selling for 600+ in us.and note 8 is 950 compared to the v30s 750, which is full 200 cheaper. and you get better audio, good looking oled display of comparable quality( color accuracy may b little less but comeon, we all oled lovers love punchy colors. camera is.also as good and you get a flat screen which is better thing for many , and its not awkwardly tall. you lose some feqtures but not all important for many. of course if you want stylus then note8 is the only way .
also lg g6 is selling for around 550 in us compared.to.the op5s 600+ and for the.fist time prices are.playing so vital role in top end. V series got cheaper and better while note got pricier.meanwhile obeplus got pricier and g6 is now a better deal than op in my opinion.

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2017Price never mattered to begin because poor people don't buy... moreactually phones are overpriced compared to other items you buy and use ,it has nothing to do with what people can afford or cant ,even if they sell for 10000$ there will always people who can afford that .look at the items in your house look at how much u paid for them and how long have you been using them and look back at your phone you will find it over priced no matter if you are rich or poor .
