In short, Snapdragon 660 is faster than Snapdragon 810, and comes very close to Snapdragon 820, its almost flagship grade...
So, the SD660 should do awesome. Its probably the 4th ranker in Qualcomm after 835, 821 and 820...

Heavy User, 12 Sep 2017Why does Xiaomi downsizing the screen from former MI note 2... moreFrom what I think, Xiaomi is now focusing on Mass usage of similar components and that is killing their individual product focus.
Look at Snapdragon 625, its so widely used in their range, that it must be renamed Xiao-dragon 625. Now, look at this Sony sensor, IMX 386, again present in at least 3 handsets if not more.
However, Note series might be under conflict from its own Mi Mix and Mi series. So, maybe that's why they're using SD660. I'm glad its not a 625 though. :D
No big deal, because SD 660 is also a very potent chipset, maybe faster than even SD 810... I think.
So, overall, SD 660 is not as slow as its name suggests. Its awesome, specially for a 1080p screen instead of 2K.

Why does Xiaomi downsizing the screen from former MI note 2 and uses a midrange chipset (SD660) instead of a flagship chipset as was used in the former MI2. Why does a hi end series phone has a midrange chipset inside it? This is DISTURBING!

Even Nokia 3 has aluminium all around it. And mi mix 2 is a copy of frigging dogee mix.(uck). The speaker design is same. The size is same. 3500 mah of Xiaomi quality battery powering 6" screen. Yeah. Sharp was the innovator. Not Xiaomi. It's just a copycat, a wannabe Apple.

Especially cheapest plastic used on edges. It's easy to see how fans and employees of HMD trying to push up "nokia" sales. Nothingnew since Windows Phone times, when thousands of MS employees sat on forums and spread lies about everything but Lumias. I see the same now. It's your fake "nokia" is total disappointment. In any aspect. Especially for that price.

ever plan to upgrade smartphone for dual camera blur hype? stay with your current phone and buy used Nikon D3100 + 50mm f/1.8 Yongnuo (cheap) and be happy because you will get way better portrait picture.

And it has no headphone Jack!! !! No ip rating, crappy miui, screen would definitely not be at par with Nokia(700 nits!!) and the updates!!! It would be stuck in nougat for the better part of it's life unless you flash a custom Rom. And front camera is 5mp!!!!!! Nokia's is 13mp with 4k recording.yeah!! Pixels don't matter but the image processing does. I want a phone not a piece of glass.

Actually those Mi Mix 2 shots are a lot better than i expected. Although they aren't full resolution samples, there's plenty of detail and minimal noise. Maybe a BIT oversharpened but as they aren't full resolution, hard to find artifacts.

But i drop it from trouser pocket height and the screen shattered!
I phone was protected with cover and tempered glass.
Hence i am not sure if i want to get another Xiaomi phone.
I drop my Samsung phone for like 20 times or more. There are a few cracks here and there but never shattered.
My house mate's Redmi note 3 mic damaged after he drop it once too....

Since its the bigger brother of mi6 it will definitely look like Mi 6 what did you expect

Now fans and employees of other cheap (but for extra money) manufacturers (lg and hmd gloval) will say it's disappointing and nothing to see here. Hey, people, it's really great phone with EXCELLENT support, feature-filled and really innovative. For reasonable price, don't forget it. For the same price as nokia 8 you will get extra storage, better look, borderless screen. Even accumulator is bigger. And it's much cheaper than v30 without support and traditionally buggy software and bad screen.
