3 out of 3:
Galaxy S: Strong blue tint all over
Nokia N8: Purple.
Galaxy S-II: Yellow.
Thats a solid fail for 3 out of 3 AMOLED phones. NOt a big deal? How come the display quality is the main marketing argument for these 3 then?
Whats the next color in the AMOLED rainbow?
I can spell it for you fans: Immature technology, have a look at SLCD units from other brands, i let the near-perfect color reproduction speak for itself, its by far the best out there as of now.

AnonD-616, 01 Jun 2011Dude symbian anna will change everything :) just wait few ... more i really hope so, because Symbian^3 its more like a OS without any useful apps on it from stock (i have a nokia n8) and any useful app must be both on the now dead OVI store.
Im going to buy a Samsung Galaxy S2 and sell my n8. Android its better almost in every aspect...
I really would love to see Android on a Nokia super phone... they have the n900 and the n810 (that i have one too) but Maemo just didn't stick on the market...

I'm going to side with the "don't do a recall" camp and just make defect free screens and offer those affected with the defect a free exchange. It's sort of a pseudo-recall without actually issuing a recall thus preserving Samsung's public image and boosting its after sales service at the same time.

[deleted post]"They will never be like Nokia" so true. Because Sammy never sell phones with stone age HW for high price like E7, X7.lolzzz
btw this error is unnoticeable. brightness drops down to low when GS II reaches to 10% battery. So its time to recharge the battery and you dont want to deal with phone anymore.
so tell me, what can you do when battery reaches 10%??
browse web for long?
shoot photos & videos?? (impossible with 10% battery)
listen to music or play video?? (impossible with 10% battery)
use gps, WiFi etc...??
all you can do is make a call. how much do you worry about that unnoticeable yellow tint when you are making a call?

They are not in a financial hole and Samsung's business ranges from manufacturing to end user devices. If they won't do a recall then it got more to do with preserving their public image than a financial one.

If Apple provided better solution for antennagate, it would have improved their image. I'm not sure if you can change the unique antenna design and replace them for users in short period of time, but replacing a screen is not as difficult as replacing a unique design antenna.

AnonD-1131, 01 Jun 2011Yes it is but it will damage the company's image to the pub... moreRIM's tablet recall didn't damage their image. I suppose this issue on Samsung's image will depend on how quickly they react and the solution they provide. You can argue with that, it's been about 3 days so far.
