Sony is now delivering some of the fastest updates right now, only days after they come out for Nexus and Pixel. An Apteligent study showed Xperia devices to be the most reliable and the latest XZ Premium and XZ1 are the fastest Android phones on the market right now, they run butter smooth and stable. Reliability and software is now top notch and unrivaled on Sony's latest flagships.

best phone 2017 yet, samsung is still sh*t and touchpizz is the reason why apple fans say things like lagdroid or crashdroid as samsung is a synonym for lagging and random crashes, thanks samsung that you su+ck so hard, sony, huawei and google all the way

It never occured to me whu Sony has the most vanilla in its Andoird Os. Its bec. SONY is never good with Software. They have a history of not neeting their deadline with updates. Most mobile companies make use of their camera sensor but they cant optimized it! They havent even implemented having 2 apps open.

You don't know when they might give up on you. Heck the Chinese can even mount the screen panels inverted and pretend to have offered the best. Fortunately for them, consumers have begun to overlook those problems because they would have spent a measly sum on their products and have little to no expectations. Frankly, every Chinese phone out their sells only because it's cheap.

Kangal, 11 Sep 2017On one-side: Sony phones are the best, go back to your crap... moreNice observation. Sony phones does seem pretty polarizing. I would like another compact but once bitten, twice shy. So drop me in the latter camp. Sony fans seem the most fervent in tramping out dissenting opinions on GSMA though.

Sony fan boy here since the 90's.. my firsr phone ever was Sony Ericsson 3618 and the last one was Xperia Z. But this phone is a huge disappointment to my long wait.. Sony has to work on their obese bezels.. this slab of a phone does no justification to puny 5.5 inch display.. planning to pick the s8 this week.

Sony Xperia FOREVER, 11 Sep 2017well, as you can tell from my name "Sony Lover"... i had th... moreHello,

I'm going to have to say the same as the guy I quote.

I had the S8+ and shifted to the XZ Premium.

The S8 had one real problems in my eyes too from a wifi side of things, mainly a matter of weak signal compared to the S6 edge I had before it.

You have to understand that for me, No AMOLED was a deal breaker but because of some other issues, such as the placement of the Bixby button being in the place I always grabbed to pickup the phone and being triggered was starting to get really irritating (obviously this is a personal issue as others will grab it in a different way).

I was that irritated that I made the leap to IPS LCD, if only because of the camera and the 4K screen (which is great, provided that you can live with staying away from dark SCREENS, as you see it so much that on AMOLED VS IPS LCD, Black's are not pixels turned off). Full brightness usage does not suffer, contrast looks great and their is no obvious bleeding you would notice in day to usage. I really just don't love it being so bright in a dark room when I have a black wallpaper and theme installed. It's in this moments I wish I had AMOLED.

I have found both s8 and xzp to be totally stable and I have had both of them for about 2 months in succession now, although in the interest of being fair, pre wifi update, wifi signal was pretty weak and I had issues with needing to turn wifi off and on to get it working maybe once a day. In addition, the xzp has on half a dozen different occasions crashed itself to the point rebooting itself.

But pictures on a computer screen look better from the Sony than the Samsung IMHO.

Volume is lacking both in earphone and ringing. If rooting the phone did not mean loosing drm keys, i would bet it could be easily bumped up a couple of levels without any unforseen consequences.

Not much else to be said aside from "I hate activist fan boys".

This WiFi thing is mostly related to SD835. Even other SD835-powered devices suffer from this, but they're afraid of telling the truth, hence why Sony's putting a lot of efforts to fix this instead of just standing still and doing nothing *ehem my LG G4 that boot looped and LG refused to fix it here in the Philippines ehem*

On one-side: Sony phones are the best, go back to your crappi Samsung or LG blah blah blah

On the other side: Sony phones sucks, they're the buggiest things, and should die blah blah blah

...I see there's really no middle ground

It says that the software update is an improvement, not a fix for an issue, and these fanboys now made from this premium smartphone the most buggy phone in the world, and sony smartphones are not good etc.. reading all of these posts gives a true meaning for the waste of time.
