Yes, not having a bottom, it did but look at the sides. they're huge compared to Essential PH-1 and Xiaomi Mi Mix2 and LG V30 so, I think they're better example than him and it looks ugly honestly

I despised iOS for years but since using my SE as a secondary for the last few weeks and becoming my favorite phone to hold one-handed, I am actually starting to love iPhone again.
There is one thing iPhones do better than Android phones. They age better. Nick Ackerman makes these iPhone videos like if iPhone 5 is still good in 2017 or whatever. Like how MacBooks age very well, so too do 4-5 year old iPhones. I wish my HTC One M7 aged as well as an iPhone 5 or 5s, but it hasn't.
V30 and X are the two best. If I didn't have the G5 and V20 which I need removable battery and IR blaster, I would go V30 because it's cheaper and I want wide-angle. V30 is definitely prettier than V20. But nah, I want iPhone X's gesture swipes which is Palm webOS reincarnated.
Silver X for me. Love the silver chrome bezel like iPhones from 2007-2009. More like a white 3Gs. A throwback design with a touch of the white iPhone 4/4s rear that hides fingerprints better. I will always consider myself an Android fan for life but iPhone was my first love before it. Going back for some nostalgia.

^ I tend to use both more once I get home and they control my TV.
I prefer typing on them anyway. I don't like Apple's default keyboard or iOS' version of SwiftKey. They also have wide-angle and act way better as media players thanks to MX Player Pro, GPlayer, Flud, TubeMate, etc. Most of my paid apps and games are w/ Android.
Going to need to sell Pixel and S7 edge just to get iPhone X which I would still owe $1000 for. But I can imagine the X aging very well by 2022 while my LGs could be dead by that point even if I put in a newer battery. There are many shops that replaces iPhones battery for cheap thanks for being so common.
Like MacBooks, iPhones simply age better than Androids. Just replace the battery every two years, you can use them for well over 5+ years.

iPhone X and V30 have "thick" bezels because you are counting the metal frame protecting the phone on the sides. If you count the screen and not the frame that's curve out X and V30 are much thinner. Note 8, PH-1, Mix 2 ditch the metal protection and just rely on glass to absorb drops.

The best phone so far this year is V30 and iPhone X. I played with a Note 8 at a T-Mobile store yesterday and wasn't impressed. It is just a bigger S8+ with horrible curved screen that bleed lights and difficult to see

all this reason like taller/thiner phone - all screen display - roundness in display's corner are all for make you have a better feel .
it has many other reasons ... like round corner made a die-hard phone like lg g6 opposite s8

in old nokia phone we had 5 : 3 i told that we have many aspect ratio ...
best for camera is 4:3 and for cinema movies is 21:9
the simple one is 1:1
all the phones are between 4:3 to 21:9 for many philosophy recently
average make 16:9 or 2x 1:1 ui and make bigger phone via bezzel-less trend .
think which will you choose ? it's too bad that companies has not same aspect ratio like 16:9 for lg / mi mix / rest phone is a good standard just because they are same 2:1
but apple and Samsung made even taller for reasons.
but the best reasons to standard a ratio should not to be looks good .
the reason should be better in our pocket and Of course in our hands :)
many other can cause feeling well and comfort like Size of phone/display like iphone se or compact series from sony ... and or Round corners that is very bad in my LG k10 it's too sharp like knife LOL , while it was very better in galaxy j7 because more round body.
ALL this reason like make roundness of display in corner. like iPhone X we saw in LG old phones and recently in all screen phones
please add a Aspect Ratio in specs of phone

is the LG V30 best ever phone? it's not as expensive as Note 8 or iPhone X.
the best ratio to screen is for essential phone and SGS8+ .
for " aspect ratio " of display:
mention that screen's ratio for Samsung phone is 18.5 : 9
* for LG - the first phone i think with this ratios - is 18:9 or simply 2:1 - 2x:1 : 1
for mi mix even before lg : it has 17 : 9 to add more efficient screen.
**mi mix 2 same as lg and other phones in mid-range by rest companies
***and apple x ? yes it's new 19.5 : 9 very near to cinema's 21:9

Samsung's aspect ratio can give you 2x display of 1:1 which we saw in LG G6
and apple can too when it's better even for movies. but for web squarer is better.
smsg and apple has philosophy of ... * * * mi mix that gives to more active display due to bezzel-less maybe 16:9 make you feel deterioration of old experience . so add 17:9 also gives you feel a real 16:9 with software navigation bar in androids . but apple i don't know officially or un-officially why they put a very tall / tallest ever / in phone ?
except for LG BL40 New Chocolate that had 21:9 ...
maybe apple wants to make a thin UX for one hand ussing and or for Cinema's movies
we have maybe aspect ratio in rest phones especially feature ones if you know something special tell me.

The recent devices from Xiaomi, Oneplus and ZTE are as well made as the flagships from well established companies like Apple and Samsung. Yes the after-sales support of these Chinese companies are crap. But you are paying less than half the price. You really shouldn't ask for more. And they do give updates, they are just very late.

And once you are done, the phone is smart enough to automatically correct the orientation of the picture. This also works in every other Xiaomi phone. Use one, then speak.

CM3, 14 Sep 2017I absolutely admire Apple for their beastly and yet efficie... morei actually love the cutout. I hated it at first but i am starting to like it. It gives a signature look to the iphone. Now you will see many ads with just a picture of the front panel with cutout and you will immediately know it's an iphone. I don't know how on earth you would put mi mix as the best phone. Everyone knows it's a big problem to put the camera at the bottom. It just doesn't work. That's why all the companies still have a little bit at the top to ensure the camera is at the top. To me. It's a bad design to have a cam at the bottom to show off more screen. I know i know the idea of the perfect phone is have all screen. You have to remember that if iphone follows that design they will not have a signature look. This design is good because it puts all the needed sensors and cameras while giving it a signature look. that's my 2 cents.

No it doesn't matter. All that really matter's is how the 6 cores and ram work with ios. As long as I can actually hold the phone and function it 1 handed bezels and resolution over 1080 don't matter. Camera, gps and phone functionality for Web browsing, social media, some games and finding my way around new places. The only thing that matters beyond 1080 resolution for a screen is sunlight legibility. I really hope premium apple delivered as they often do. We wait longer for them but they do it right (face recognition will hopefully encourage others to improve their versions)

You have to make a product that makes people pay top dollar for it. that's "profit". It's like buying purses. are they really worth thousands? It's called "branding". a successful company can make you pay premium prices for least amount of materials. Stop complaining and start learning from successful companies.

AnonD-484745, 14 Sep 2017Essential came up with that design first with their device ... moreUmm................Sharp made that design and later gave up on it, Xiaomi revived it and started this bezel less smartphone craze, Samsung put their own curved design into it (looks good, pain to use), LG omitted those curves (looks less good but much more easy to use) and Essential took Xiaomis design and put a stupid hole at the top.
